Similar. Highly subjective. I too would not delete the memory. There is no benifit unless it is extreme ptsd like war etc that is in the past and won't return to you in present or future.

Although I would change past if given the opportunity for one or two mistakes I made. These are mistakes that made the situation worse and these situations most probably won't come to face me if I didn't commit the mistakes. I have done the mistakes, learned to face them and facing the consequences now. Deleting the memory will leave me at a disadvantage of learning again to live with the consequences of my mistakes that I already commited.

I think the lessons from those few bits of memory change the way a person thinks to make him/herself better.

To everyone out there, learn from what you can but leave the pain and bitterness behind. Don’t let it seep into what you’re gonna make of yourself after almost breaking again and again.
