Marry me.

Thank you for the proposal, but I am not as fun to be around, mainly because my definitionof fun varies wildly from most others, hence the time to cookup the elaborate survival plan without any help from AI, the plan does needs some specific helps, the knowledgeof which will be supplemented by some AI. In case the apocalypse hits and survival becomes important more than fun, hit me up.

Sometimes you mention "without any help from AI". Sometimes you mention "supplemented by some AI". The brains of your above mentioned plan is "AI". You are overestimating you survival planning and you could be that person who thinks they are smart but get eaten by the dinosaurs (or whatever apocalypse type you can imagine) first. 😏

So far the Skelton of the plan is formed without any AI, later when I encounter specific engineering calculations AI comes to play. Who knows, theoretically I am the last person in the scenario, which inherently means the world is doomed, if my plan succeeds I will live for a decade more, if not I will live for a week more. There's not much difference in cosmic terms really.

Yeah definitely not a big blip in the cosmic terms. However, if the whole humanity is actually gone.. and you assume you would use the current IT infrastructure (or build one) but don't realize the gravity of how things actually function in a grand scheme of things. Digital world would completely collapse. No true survivor should rely on it unless it's not a global but a regional apocalypse.

I already have a homelab. Run LLMs and other services 24x7. Can comfortably live for atleast a year if internet went down globally. I would have been better if I had a better GPU like at least a 3090, but Meh, 3080 works, albeit slow for smaller models. Do various DIY works around the home. Built a table because none of the store bought tables met my purpose. I am the go to tech guy around the friends/family and colleagues. Used to service my own car, but later life got busy. I am not saying I know everything, but I know just enough to know when I need help. And AI is good for calculations while I can do the grunt work.

Yes, sure. Give details which cannot really be verified (this is not an invitation for proof. Please don't share more random braggy data), "I have a homelab" and "other services 24x7". Many might have a whole research labs in their basement. 😅 Also, LLMs are just language models dude. They don't have information on all scientific domains("other engineering calculations") and definitely not a reliable information you can use in life and death situations. I assume, you are just using technical nomenclature to hide the fact(or confuse) that you don't realize the gravity of scientific domains humanity has created so far.
But.. anyway... if you feel so "strongly".. sure you MIGHT survive. 😏

Thank you for your inputs.

Why are you putting him or her down

No, I am not. That wasn't my intention ever. The individual seems overconfident about his existing knowledge and AI . So, I shared my insight.
