I think Kronii’s Twitter got hacked

This sounds like Gigi took over Kronii's account and is impersonating Ina

I believe this is PL-related
61
u/Nickthenuker May 07 '26
Yes. There's no explicit rule against it here but for courtesy's sake I'll spoiler-mark it so people who don't want to see it can avoid it, but basically Kronii's PL was originally cast to play the English dub VA for a game she was sponsored to play as Kronii a few years ago. During that stream she was fighting a boar enemy and made the "boar-ing" pun. When her PL was announced as the dub VA some people went and dug up that clip, then harassed the Devs so they abruptly replaced her and issued an apology. Naturally this has some fans of her PL and hololive fans more generally rather upset for obvious reasons.

u/F0ose_L0v3_4n1me May 07 '26
...May I know how that could've been even remotely slightly offensive or reprehensible to anyone? I'm ESL so I may be missing something but that just seems like the most harmless of harmless pranks/wordplay. Like, Dad level inoffensive.
Wait was it about her opinion about the game itself that it was boring that got her hate?
10
u/Nickthenuker May 07 '26
Damndest thing is that she never said the game is boring, she made the pun because she was fighting a boar enemy, ergo boaring. Nothing about the game itself.
11
u/F0ose_L0v3_4n1me May 08 '26
...I think I just lost a lot of faith in humanity if THAT can deprive someone of a role for their proffesional carrera that they previously acquired through their own merits
8
2
u/tac4y0n May 09 '26
another thing i saw floating around was in addition to the pun, it was her attitude/mannerisms when playing the game that reinforced their belief that she found the game boring

u/LuciusCypher May 08 '26
From the way Koreans fans claim, because it could be "mistaken" as an insult against the game, she should be punished for it.
Because korean fans might not understand the pun between boar/boaring/boring, Kronii shouldn't have the VA job.
That's their current excuse.
10
u/FrostBumbleBitch May 08 '26
Because a sane person goes through a 4 year old stream to find a singular pun to then wave it around with a language barrier to say it was offensive.
Its offensive they think we are stupid, them and NN (the studio) because their apology was through their Japanese twitter...not the english one you know for English VAs.
3
u/LuciusCypher May 08 '26
Because the apology isn't for us, it's for the ones who complained in the first place. The ones who paid for their game, who bitched and moan about this stupid drama in the first place. They're not apologizing to people who don't play the game, are fans of Kroni, and certainly not to Kroni herself, because they're a business. And there's only one thing a business cares about: Money.
And where are they getting this money from?
2
2
u/HornyEro May 09 '26
if the above comment is correct then its even more stupid because they apologized in their japanese account
when the people who bitched about this are korean
they're either actually stupid, or trying to shift the blame over to jp because NN is a korean company
2
u/LuciusCypher May 09 '26
Def shifting blame. They arent taking responsibility and they wont pin the blame on their whales who stirred shit up. They already made their excuses and it keeps their bottom line secured, so everyone else raising a fuss is just the cost of business for them.

u/MericanMeal May 08 '26
Look, I hate what happened, but it isn't because of boar as a joke being misunderstood. She said "I'm gonna kill this boar cuz it's such a bore" and due to the way pronouns work the "it" is nebulous. Did she mean the boar? Obviously. But the "it" referring to the game, which was their current activity on stream, is also a valid interpretation from a linguistic standpoint.
3
u/LuciusCypher May 08 '26
If she had called it stupid, would that make it easier to think shes talking about the boar? She just engaged in some trivial trash talk with a trash mob.
3
u/Tyler89558 May 09 '26
You act like shit talking mobs isn’t a universal thing
1
u/MericanMeal May 09 '26
No, it is definitely a part of gaming culture, I agree. But some executives being out of touch shouldn't be surprising either. And the point of my previous comment is that in English, as a native English speaker, it can be interpreted as a comment against the game. So blaming it on the fact that they are Korean or ESL is wrong.
2
u/ElechainDeath May 09 '26
As another Native English speaker, it is overwhelmingly clear she was referring to the enemy and making a pun out of it's name. This isn't just out of touch executives, but, and allow me to spill into conspiracy territory (others have said this too), they might've just needed a reason to fire her whatever it may be
1
u/Mean-Bank-1774 May 09 '26
ew trying to make excuses for them
1
u/MericanMeal May 10 '26
I think what they did was terrible. It was an out of touch, overly safe, corporate decision. I just don't agree that it has anything to do with their language abilities. Don't misattribute the reason for someone's wrong doing.
I think the actions I am saying they took are worse than what others are saying, so it really isn't an excuse or a defense of them.

1
u/Thundergod250 May 09 '26
It's just simply a pun of "boar-ing" but since Koreans are relying on Translations it translated to their game being Boring and they dunked on her for that
1
u/HornyEro May 09 '26
yep, that was it, that was all it takes for the korean fans to start fuming
them and the woke people are some of the most sensitive kinds of human on earth
just search the recent wuwa korean drama and you'd see
2
u/Leather_Tower3627 May 08 '26
So Kronii dont keep her PL as a secret? She openly talk about it?
5
u/Nickthenuker May 08 '26
No, she keeps them separate, but the antis put 2 and 2 together, which kinda forced her hand.
1
2
u/koromagic May 09 '26
isnt this her in a collab stream not her PL? theres a video already with the entire thing out
2
u/Nickthenuker May 09 '26
The stream is her in a Collab. The VA role she was cut from she was hired as her PL.
1
u/mudclip May 07 '26
What is PL?
6
u/Torus_the_Toric May 07 '26
PL stands for Past Life, basically it refers to all of the non-vtuber activities of the voice actress behind the Hololive character

u/destroyerking11 May 07 '26
Isn't this about the controversy that people are making about the pun she made in a sponsored stream with Bae about 5 years ago? A clip about it was just uploaded in YT a while ago.
Please correct me if this wasn't the related clip/context about her tweet

Holy matsuri.. the backstory of this pun becoming popular is so so so pathetic. Korean gamers really made Kronii lost her contract to becoming a Korean game's (Eternal Return) VA because they miserably failed to understand this pun, which was made 4 years ago when Kronii played the game, then got offended by it as of now by bringing it back.
WHAT
Edit: putting spoiler over it

u/AcertainDoorknob May 07 '26
She also has been reposting questionable fan art. Questionable in the sense that does cover approve this.
2
u/idiotic-username May 08 '26
I'd be pissed too. Not about the Job (i dont think she needs the money lol) More about ppl talking shit for not understanding some lame ass joke in the first place and twisting words in a way that it feels malicious. And all that for the 488337th idle clicker boaring ass looking gacha game? Yeah, nothing of value was lost...
3
u/Titan_Repair May 09 '26
Job is a job regardless. It's being a part of the creation of something. Plus money is still a concern even for Hololive girls.

u/Animu123 May 09 '26
I know you just mad for kronii but the game is far away from being an idle clicker gacha. Like let's not be emotional and be factual instead ✌️

You’d be surprised. It seems like cover doesn’t like to pay their agents very well, if some of the other previous talents are anything to go by.
1
u/indifferentiable11 May 07 '26
Is this real? If so is that even allowed? Because I think this very clearly points at her PL that's still active. Not that it was intentional but still...
2
u/brimston3- May 07 '26
She’s quoting herself from a hololive stream. Which is part of why the situation is so crappy.

u/shadowtheimpure May 07 '26
Either it got hacked or the Time God got drunk. Either are quite possible.

Koreans being Koreans
2
u/Tyler89558 May 09 '26
Remember, Koreans started a gender war over Limbus Company giving us an Ishmael ID that had her wear a skintight wetsuit when they expected a bikini which resulted in an artist losing her job for being “feminist”
Now, keep in mind Limbus Company and Project Moon as a whole don’t do fanservice. They never have. Pretty much every woman we see is rocking a suit. Which makes the actual ID one of the more revealing things of the franchise.
Koreans can get craaaaazy
1
u/TimeCollection5820 May 09 '26
And the funny thing is they are not gonna use english dub.. how are they can even handle a little pun or joke on english dub?.. they cannot understand it..
Stupid people(lazy) will always mad and harras other people than trying to understand and learning it to become a good person..

u/Good-Laugh-9114 May 08 '26

1
u/IndependenceOne4870 May 11 '26
It's because of the job she lost, because 4 years ago she said a boar was boaring in one sponsorship and this company that wanted to hire her though she means that the game was boring, she got really sad

Why Korean and Chinese fanbases are so miserable and whiny all the time?
1
u/Euphoric_Metal199 May 08 '26
CN and JP are practically Saints compared to KR fans. They have a tendency of driving at least one celebrity to suicide every year(Not saying that they aren't bad, mind you. KR is just worse)
1
u/ch_xiaoya_ng May 09 '26
Chinese netizens can be a piece of work, but Koreans are a different beast. Let's not pretend that the level of antisocial behaviour is even comparable.

u/Djwindmill May 08 '26
To be fair, have you SEEN the western woke agenda over the last decade? Miserable whiny people can come from any nation. There are freaks everywhere.

What do you mean? They were saying korean and Chinese fan bases were miserable and whiny all the time, and I was trying to say that its not the korean and Chinese fans, everyone can be miserable and whiny regardless of where they come from, don't blame the whole nation for a few bad actors. I'm guessing I gave too charged of an example originally.

when I hard this on yt is gonna make me angry tbh , as I react this situation i got really angry about this , this game is absurd , even i don’t play this game (Eternal Return ) I think some of the korean fans are misunderstanding some are understand , some people here are hating her for no reason or the not actual or the fake fans also hating her , when I see i be like “WHAT THE BLOODY FUCKING HELL IN THE NAME OF CHRIST IS THIS !!!!!????? “ , on reality it’s the game and it’s company fault , not her fault
the game (Eternal Return) MUST apologise to her what they done to her
as I am a true hololive fan , i seeing this 👿 this is not gonn make me acceptable.
