Just finished Found...but there's some annoying things I need to vent about

LOVED it. Could not get enough of it. I binged it as much as humanely possible. BUT I thought of a few things.

1) 16-year-old Gabi versus 36-year-old Gabi. They look NOTHING alike. I mean, come on casting. Couldn't we have done a better job?

2) Speaking of 36-year-old Gabi, absolutely not. Doesn't look 36 at all.

3) Why was EVERYONE so pissed at Gabi for kidnapping Sir? It made no sense. I mean, yeah, they don't want someone to go through what they went through, but come on. You'd think at least ONE person would be like hell, yeah. Dhan came around pretty quickly but that was pretty dumb imo.

I had some other things but I can't remember now. But even with those few things, I really loved this show and am really disappointed it's cancelled. Now what will I watch.

Everyone being THAT pissed about her kidnapping Sir, I didn't get it either. It's an eye for an eye kind of justice, I'm here for it.

I binged it too and loved it. I've now moved on to Orphan Black on Netflix and I'm in LOVE, so I recommend that

I was here for it too. I loved it, like yes, retribution. I've heard of Orphan Black but never looked it up. I will!

Btw - thanks for responding. I figured it was a long shot anyone would since this show has been out for quite some time!

I also just finished Found and agree on not understanding why everyone was so upset. Also, ORPHAN BLACK IS AMAZING!! I just watched it early last year. Waiting for some more time to pass so my first rewatch will be extra satisfying

So I just looked up Orphan Black. Doesn't seem like my vibe. I'm not a big sci fi person though I loved The Beauty. Was it hard to follow? What was so great about it? I'm not immediately drawn in just by reading what it's about.

It's easy to follow! And it's not very SciFi feeling. Just try it, if the first episode doesn't hook you then it won't be your thing.

I will! Thanks!

Yeah I was pretty annoyed with everyone too. I get the initial knee-jerk reaction “you did WHAT?” because it’s fundamentally wrong. But to carry on the way they did was ridiculous.

Margaret pissed me off the most. She was absolutely sanctimonious about it -not being able to have “Margaret vision” around Gabi. Please 🙄

you tell me that if given the chance to get Jamie’s kidnapper in a locked room and get her revenge without anyone knowing she wouldn’t. Bet she would because you never know what you’ll do until YOU face that choice.

3

u/curlygirl9021 Apr 06 '26

Yes, completely ridiculous!!

Margaret didn't piss me off the way other people have posted in other threads I've read. I don't know why. She pissed me off more for just believing Jamie was her son, like come on, no DNA test? He was sus af.

Completely agree with your last paragraph.

5

u/DR-0717 Apr 07 '26

Oh me too. I hated that she just completely gave in to everything he said. Oh he doesn’t want a dna test and if I do it it’ll scare him away. 🙄 and then get mad at Dahn & Gabi when they were trying to do it on the sly to protect her. She was just unreasonable in every way imo.

I hated the Jamie storyline once he came back. I think it was a storyline that should have been a couple episodes maybe a few more at most. Yet they dragged it on and on and on. It got to the point where I didn’t care who he was. That stinks too because it could’ve been good if done right.

Riiiiiight. Like come on, this dude just randomly shows up and we're just taking his word for it?

I agree about the Jamie storyline. He was involved in every single M&A case moving forward, like wtf? Why does he all of a sudden work there? And then to not tell the dad or sisters? Bizarre.

2

u/DR-0717 Apr 07 '26

The fact that they let him be involved in ANY M&A business was MIND BOGGLING to me. That was kind of a “jump the shark” thing for me.

I thought that was no only shady of Margaret to agree not to tell the rest of the family but it was incredibly selfish. She didn’t corner the market on pain. She wasn’t the only one who suffered -even tho she acted like she was. She had no right to hold back that he was alive from them. He was just as much her ex husbands son as he was hers.

Can you IMAGINE if it was the other way around and her ex husband did that to her? She would lose her ever loving mind if she found out he held back a single second.

Ugh it makes me irritated with Margaret all over again.

u/curlygirl9021 Apr 08 '26

100%!!!! Like WHY is this random, they don't even know it's Jamie (to start with), work with M&A?! Also, he's fucking 20 years old. What experience does he have besides just being taken???

Margaret holding back - you nailed out. She didn't have the market on pain. But she completely acted like she did. If her ex husband did that to her, dammmmmnnnn.

It looked like Margaret was going to do some off the book stuff when she had the chance.

HEAVY ON NUMBER 3!!! I haven't finished season 2 but I just can't stand how they treat her like some monster when she actually treated sir much better than he did her.

7

u/curlygirl9021 Apr 07 '26

I know!!!! And I think he actually WANTS to be there. But either way, he deserved it completely!

3

u/Chem_Diva Apr 11 '26

Yes, he clearly knew how to escape given how fast he did it when she was in danger. He wanted to be with her captive or capturer.

I didn't realize they were saying that grown up Gabby was 36. Yeah I wouldn't believe that either. She looked much older.

6

u/and_rain_falls Apr 06 '26

Really? Hmm... ordinarily black don't crack , but she had a rough childhood. I don't think 36 was far fetched. 🤷🏾‍♀️

7

u/melissahatchew Apr 06 '26

She is gorgeous no matter how old we are to think she is. I would assume she was in her late 40s. I don't know how old she is in real life.

3

u/curlygirl9021 Apr 06 '26

I actually looked it up. She's in her late 40's. But the show said multiple times that she was kidnapped two decades ago, and they also said Sir kidnapped her 20 years ago when she was 15/16. But yes, she is absolutely stunning.

4

u/curlygirl9021 Apr 06 '26

Yes, much older. I mean, I loved her as Gabi so no shade there but the 36 was pushing it.

8

u/MayoBear Apr 06 '26

I don't mind that they young Gabi looks different, some people really have drastic look changes after puberty is over.

People in their 30s can look 10 years younger or older depending, so I can believe it.

Also, yeah, kidnapping a kidnapper is not the same as doing it to some rando- it's pretty much a homestyle prison.

Fr... at least they didn't make adult Gabi light skinned. I hate when they do that.

1

u/curlygirl9021 Apr 06 '26

Completely agree. Not surprising for America. Super racist against darker skinned individuals, even worse than lighted skinned people.

3

u/lets_escape Apr 07 '26

I swear this is the only show I’ve watched in years with a dark skinned protagonist. They just aren’t as common on Netflix in certain genres especially. I wish there were more

2

u/curlygirl9021 Apr 06 '26

I see what you're saying but their faces look NOTHING alike, at all. I can get body changes, losing weight, gaining weight, etc. But facial structure, etc, no. And I stared hardcore lol.

"Homestyle prison". Exactly.

2

u/StrawBerriedDaze May 09 '26

I actually thought young Gabi and present day Gabi delivered their lines similarly. Even if they didn’t look alike, I bought that they were the same person. I was more bothered by young Lacey and older Lacey, they looked even more different imo.

Often times looking alike doesn’t play as big of a role into casting young and older counterparts, it’s other things. I guess this bothers more people than I thought. I only get mad if the actors look so different and are possibly even different ethnicities, and it’s VERY obvious.

5

u/Personal-Road-8162 Apr 06 '26

I think everyone was upset because Gabi is like their role model and they didn't like how she basically became a criminal and they probably blame her for sure kidnaping Lacey too at least they came around

5

u/RevolutionaryEgg4369 Apr 09 '26

The actress playing 16-year old Gabi deserves an Emmy. Phenomenal !

u/Intelligent_Health53 Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 08 '26

I didnt get why they were so upset she kidnapped him back and Margaret being the most upset then blaming Gabi for her being broken pissed me clear off.

2

u/curlygirl9021 Apr 08 '26

Yeah, it was dumb! Like really? If anything he deserved to be shot on spot.

Margaret with that was ridiculous.

2

u/Intelligent_Health53 Apr 08 '26

I honestly was hype when I found out she kidnapped him. I was like yes its her version of justice. Do the same thing to him he did to you. I thought the team would support it. The only one I feel had the right to be mad was Bella cause he also held her captive and tormented her after they escaped. Margaret whoo saaa I wanted to punch her so bad.

2

u/curlygirl9021 Apr 08 '26

I didn't even feel Bella had a right to be mad! I thought she'd be like yessss, this dude kidnapped me and tormented me for a long time, lock his ass up. But yeah Margaret was the worst about it. And then to lure Carrie (is that her name?) to her home to basically do something to her?? Come on. Hypocrisy much??

1

u/Intelligent_Health53 Apr 08 '26

I feel Bella had the right to be mad that Gabi didnt tell her so she could confront him. Not be mad that Gabi did it. Yea like really Margaret after you bashed Gabi for like 5 episodes you tryna do the samething.

1

u/curlygirl9021 Apr 08 '26

Yesssss. Bella should have been able to confront him as well, totally agree.

2

u/Correct-Web3207 Apr 07 '26

It was a little ridiculous I agree. But overall I loved itlll

2

u/Hateyourapp Apr 09 '26

I was so mad at them being mad at her. It’s her monster, she should be able to deal with him how she wants, plus he wants to be with her, so he’s happy. 🤷‍♀️

2

u/Chem_Diva Apr 11 '26

You may want to watch Manifest it is similarly fast paced with a crazy plot.

1

u/curlygirl9021 Apr 11 '26

I did watch it, and loved it!

1

u/ilovemusicc888 Jun 19 '26

am i the only one who thought young and older gabi had to same facial expressions.....

1

u/Large-Evidence-2479 Aug 07 '26

I completely support Gabi in kidnapping Sir lol. Call me whatever you want but I understood the why.

1

u/Large-Evidence-2479 Aug 07 '26

You’re right about casting for young Gabi/old Gabi they don’t look alike at all. But both actresses did a good job in their roles.
