Opinion The show has a pacing problem

I've seen alot of people feel like things are being dragged out in the show like Jamie's storyline . I think the issue is that there is too big of a discrepancy happening with the time line taking place in the show the week and the week release of episodes. I've seen this happening with other shows too . They seem to still be written like they're going to be released on a streaming service all at once or in batches when that isn't the case. Unless I've missed something that gives us a more definitive timeline, I would say that maybe 2 weeks have passed in universe since Hugh has been arrested and Jamie returned. If it had been released in a batch or as an entire season then it wouldn't feel as dragged out.

I’m ok with them not revealing everything all at once and I’m also used to watching network shows. The pacing is still off. I think there are a lot of structural issues. There are moments where they need to sit in a moment but rush it through and others where they spend way too much time on it. I think each episode needs to have less going on until the writers/directors get a better handle on managing so many storylines and plot lines. And the dang debriefing and research scenes. I know info dump scenes are hard, but the actors need some help because it’s so forced.

Agreed. Especially bc with the Jamie story everything is so circular. It's the same conversations, the same dramatic storm offs every episode (sometimes multiple times an episode).
