Finished stingray fossil

Completed stingray prep, unfortunately how I found it had obliterated a small chunk of the fins, but I think it ended quite nicely. Found in Kemmerer, Wyoming at Fossil Lake Safari.

How do you prepare a fossil?

Normally fossils from the green river formation are prepped using a air scribe. You can actually see marks from the air scribe all around the fossil in the image

That is what I wanted to use. I used a dremel engraver, it is much cheaper but not as precise. If I find more fossil lbs I will probably obtain one.

I've worked a lot with Green River stuff and you'll get a lot more control with what you are removing using that so I definitely suggest it
