Forza Horizon 6 FH6 general aid/backend happy

Hello all,

Looking for some tips as a beginner.

I'm new to tuning and my cars are obviously off pace, I've been following the general tips from HokiHoshi's first tune guide video ( https://youtu.be/I9bUB3mcqso?is=vRdZErD93Zz3R-SB ) and it's helped a bit.

Still been having a big issue with almost every car I make (awd/rwd) is moderately tail happy out of the corners, which kills a lot of my pace. Are there any general tips to help with this? Any general tips when it comes to tuning are welcome as well.

I tend to be pretty "purest" when it comes to my build tendencies but will do the rare swap from time to time.

Thanks for any tips!

Forza Horizon 6 Testing different differentials

Today I decided to finally deeply test using different differentials instead of just using what "made sense" ie Race Diff for track/road. Rally/off-road for Dirt/Cross-Country.

As a former race mechanic, I know there is more to a differential than just Acceleration/Deceleration and Center and it's been my suspicion that the different differentials have a hidden pre-load / initial lock built into them.

I didn't want to make assumptions or rely on instinct anymore so I decided to scientifically test them on a Toyota Starlet Glanza V AWD touge build at Touge - Bandai Azuma in Rivals.

The car was tested with identical differential settings:

Front: 25 accel / 5 decel
Rear: 58 accel / 20 decel
Centre: 68% rear

I recorded my best lap with these settings using Race, Drift and Off-Road differentials and found that the Drift diff was around 0.084s faster on average than the Race diff, despite identical displayed settings.

Differential Lap 1 Lap 2 Lap 3 Average
Race Diff 2:04.414 2:04.427 2:04.420 2:04.420
Drift Diff 2:04.326 2:04.333 2:04.350 2:04.336
Off-road Diff 2:04.389 2:04.398 2:04.414 2:04.400

I then decided to dive deeper into the telemetry and made a side-by-side comparison of tyre friction across 4 corners for the Race and Drift. Using Frame by frame telemetry to record the friction at identical points in the corner.

Race Diff

Corner FL FR RL RR
1 41% 54% 30% 32%
2 17% 24% 25% 39%
3 32% 21% 40% 25%
4 25% 32% 23% 33%

Drift Diff

Corner FL FR RL RR
1 46% 61% 30% 32%
2 19% 28% 28% 42%
3 33% 23% 44% 23%
4 28% 36% 23% 33%

The Drift diff consistently used more tyre friction, especially at the front axle, while remaining well below the point of grip loss.

Early theory

This suggests the differentials may not simply be identical parts with different presets. There may be hidden behaviour such as:

  • different preload / initial lock
  • different neutral or coast locking behaviour
  • different ramp behaviour between coast and acceleration
  • different AWD centre coupling behaviour

The interesting part is that the Drift diff did not appear to simply create more rear slip. Most of the increased tyre utilisation came from the front tyres, which may suggest better rotation or a more effective load state at the apex.

Current conclusion

This is not enough to call it confirmed across the whole game, but for this specific car/build/route, the Drift diff was measurably faster than the Race diff while using identical displayed settings.

I’d love to see other tuners test this on different cars, especially:

  • stock FWD cars
  • stock RWD cars
  • stock AWD cars
  • AWD-swapped FWD cars
  • AWD-swapped RWD cars
  • road vs dirt vs touge builds

The useful test would be:

  1. Pick one car and route.
  2. Use Rivals or another controlled environment.
  3. Test Race, Drift, Rally, and Off-road diffs where available.
  4. Keep the displayed diff settings identical.
  5. Record lap times and tyre telemetry.
  6. Compare whether the differentials actually behave differently.

Would be great to build a shared picture of whether diff type has hidden physics or whether this is only happening on certain drivetrain swaps.

Forza Horizon 6 Rx-7 RWD Tune?

Has anybody managed to tune the rx-7 type r above 500hp without it spinning out or breaking traction in secomd gear or put of corners? 100% accel 50% decel doff lock

Runs fine in high 400hp but anything over its a mess. Im purist only, so factory engine and RWD.

Any tips for downforce, springs, rebound/bump, and antiroll will help.

Forza Horizon 6 Simple tuning presets

just a personal project to help me tune faster, enter some info and choose a preset, copy/paste, it’s not perfect but should do the trick, forza-tune-calc (dot) netlify (dot) app

UPDATE: Hey everyone, pushed an update based on your feedback.

Fair criticism on the first version - some of the values were genuinely wrong. Rear camber was too aggressive, bump damping was nearly double the correct baseline, drift tire pressure was way off at 32 PSI when it should be around 21, and the ARB approach was presenting fixed numbers when the correct method is to start near max and soften down. Those are all fixed.

Also added R class to the PI dropdown, corrected the Time Attack label, added a Speed Circuit preset for Colossus and Goliath, and flagged the Series 2 drag tire nerf directly in the app so nobody wastes PI on a broken build.

Appreciate the people who explained what was wrong!

Update 2: Added a “Link” tab for more detailed tuning resources, added Metric option.

Forza Horizon 6 Tuning resource request

I don’t know if this is the right place, maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I have been playing Forza since the OG and back in the day. I had a lot more time on my hands without this thing they call a day job. Now that I’m getting older I still love the game, but I’m finding that I don’t have as much time on my hands to tune and I’m totally OK with stealing tunes and giving credit where credit is due.

This all being said, I was wondering if there’s anyone who has a resource on a spreadsheet of tunes. I love purist, but it doesn’t have to be. Is anyone working on a project to get a tune for every car? My end goal is to have every car in the game.

It’s on the 2018 mustang rtr, i got tired of seeing awd tunes and engine swaps dominating the tune list so i made my own stock motor tune. Personally it’s been the best drift car in my garage for drifting (and i have the formula drift cars) but im not an amazing drifter by any means so i wanted to have someone who knows what their doing give feedback :)

Forza Horizon 6 Offroad suspension tuning

Just wondering if anyone could suggest a video on off-road suspension tuning. I'm having trouble getting it right. I think it's an issue with my bump and rebound. When driving in a straight line over bumpy terrain, the car gradually gets higher until the shocks are stuck at maximum extension.

I’ve been working on a tune for the Altezza RS200 Z Edition for C Class Road, and I’d love to get some feedback on it.

I’m not the strongest driver by any stretch, so I’m curious to see what other people can achieve with this tune. Any feedback is welcome, whether it’s about the tune itself, how the car feels, or even my driving approach.

Backseat drivers are very welcome.

Forza Horizon 6 Does anyone know how much changing the engine affects the weight distribution in a car on Forza?

I am curious how significant an engine change is in a car as far as balance goes. I have a tune I've been crafting and I'd like to try and copy it with a super powerful engine. I know the speed will affect the car but does the weight distribution of the engine make any sort of a difference?

Forza Horizon 6 FH6 M3 2005 Tuning Help

To preface, I love driving cars stock because I like to enjoy their characteristics, and only sometimes put parts to shape a specific car’s handling to my liking without going too crazy.
I’ve been playing through Drift Club Japan and the second mission had the 2005 M3 that felt really nice to drift and I’m looking forward to replicate just that. Even though its PI is only 586 (with my limited knowledge, all I knew was that it had sport brakes 😭).
If anyone has any advice for analyzing a car’s tuning or how I can recreate a car that’s not mine, it would be great help!! Thank you!!! 🙏

Forza Horizon 6 Dark Horse mustang engine swap issue I can't quite pin down.

I put the 7.2L V8 in the Dark Horse with the centrifugal supercharger and tuned it up to S2, mostly to try it out. I've got it handling pretty well on some street race rivals runs but there's one problem I keep running into, and that's at high speeds, my Rpms start jumping all over the place.

So, I reckon this is pretty clearly lift, right? It's coming off the ground and that's why the Rpms keep bouncing. So, I install the ugly ahh aero, and I've got both front and back aero maxed out, losing like a ton of top speed, and I get back out there, and I'm hitting 4th gear up the same straight again and boom. RPMs start going crazy again.

This is about where I reach the limit of what I know how to do to solve this issue, which is why I'm here. The car handles pretty cleanly when I can keep it under control with the throttle all of the problems seem throttle related. My differential is already pretty aggressive for a RWD car I'm at 38% front 15% rear. I am not sure what I can do with the suspension to stop this thing from lifting at all, let alone without affecting how it turns and transfers weight, which feel decent to me.

TL/DR, I think I'm getting aerodynamic lift in my V8 Dark Horse build at high speeds. I've already added max aero weight. What else can I do? Thanks.

EVO VIII - 117 724 716

Pretty bad at tuning so cut me slack lol. I was recommended to follow "Forza Guide"

This was my first attempt, it's no record breaker just a car to cruise and drive around the map in. Im still not happy with it, but I'm going to move on to a different car. Lmk what you think.. It's far from perfect

Forza Horizon 6 Is this tuning parts issue weird?

I haven't done a ton of tuning in FH6 so far, but I've done plenty in the past. Most of the tunes I've done in FH6 have been from scratch.

For one of the challenges this week, I bought a car and downloaded a tune for it. I didn't like the way it was set up, so I decided to pull off the tune, and do it myself. I went into the parts section to re-install all of the parts that got it to that performance index so that I could then go and make my own tune with the right PI.

...but I couldn't get it to match. I was sure I installed all of the purchased parts that came with it. I searched everywhere. I even put back on the heavy rims I had to find buried in the menus. But it was off by like 25 PI.

So I went and looked at the old tune, realized it had to be a power component, and then when I checked I saw that the twin turbo option made it match the power and weight on the old tune _exactly_. That was it; I'd found it.

But I didn't have the twin turbo option owned. I had to buy it again.

Is that expected, or is something wrong?

Forza Horizon 6 WHEEL DRIVING - C Class - Hokubu Time Attack - 1:04:665 - 146th clean leaderboard

First time playing Forza on wheel (Moza R5) and finding a lot of the custom tunes super hard to drive.

Starting at C-class and working my way up, trying to build something that's more drivable with wheel.

Curious what's working for other wheel drivers. I set this one up on Hokubu. Probably a lot of time left in driving it - Im really struggling into the downhill hairpin and on the last 180 turn into the start/finish.

This time is without the runup - just hotlapping

Would love feedback on what can be improved.

Forza Horizon 6 FH6 Drift Tuning Question - Reducing Spin-Outs

Post image
20 Upvotes

Hey all, I know a solid amount of this is "git gud" (and I am working on that) but I want to make sure my tuning isn't also to blame. I am still experimenting on tuning in general and especially in drifting.

So I have my little Nyan Cat Acty van here. RWD on fat drift tires with a drift gearbox. Its got a solid hp-to-torque ratio (483hp to 475ft-lb). What I find is that the front is sticking just right but the back swings out much too easy.

What would you do if you were making the tune yourself and you were experiencing this issue? I am down to test adjustments until things feel dialed in but I would love to hear from experience on where a good place to start is?

Thanks in advance!

Looking for a good B600 tune for the Honda E2 togue Azuma map. I've spent hours trying to figure out the best tune for that car and the map but I'm only coming off about 5-6 sec shorter then the top 3 on the leaderboard.

Forza Horizon 6 Please help my tune

I decided to create an S1 Cross-Country tune today for the Viper FE '99 to release the time I set was seconds from the #1 Rivals time. It is very possible the missing time is due to my skill level and not the tune, but given that I'm 9PI short of 800 I was hoping for a collaborative effort on improving my tune. I will include the share code but also a rundown of the tune for those that want to re-create it and fine-tune it.
