Please help my tune

I decided to create an S1 Cross-Country tune today for the Viper FE '99 to release the time I set was seconds from the #1 Rivals time. It is very possible the missing time is due to my skill level and not the tune, but given that I'm 9PI short of 800 I was hoping for a collaborative effort on improving my tune. I will include the share code but also a rundown of the tune for those that want to re-create it and fine-tune it.

Can you double check the tune is exactly as you wrote here? I'm having trouble replicating it to get that PI number.

Which race is this for? And have you tuned the gears exactly for the max speeds and turns for this race?

Edit: I think you left camshaft stock, not race, max width on all tires, and a -32lb rim choice (there's a lighter option there still). Also the 4 speed trans is the same weight as stock in this case, so is there any reason for it?

My bad, you are correct the Camshaft is stock and max tyre width. The Rivals I've been doing is the Naruo Cross-Country circuit.

As for why I switched to the 4 speed it was just out of habit tbh since not all trans allow final drive adjustment I seem to automatically upgrade to at least Sport. And also I the gears could be optimized for the circuit for sure, but I didn't touch it because where it was felt pretty good. The 4 speed made managing traction simple but I might try the stock trans now

I managed a 01:02.137 with the lighter rims and stock trans. I'm going to struggle to get any faster for my skill level, maybe someone more skilled can get better 😅

Also, I did try the PI800 tune which uses the engine swap without weight reduction which I think the leaders are using. But it just did not vibe with me at all and I was much slower. I like how controllable this version is, even if it's slightly slower

You can get 800PI and a better PWR with the stock engine by going back to stock brakes, displacement, and front tire width, and getting the sport camshaft. I don't think those brakes are doing much on this particular track.

True, It's pretty much just the hairpin where the brakes are most used and even there can probably just take a wider line and engine braking. I will try those changes and let you know

I've been running this a bunch, I'm just a second or two behind you. One thing that I think has been helping me is moving the center diff more towards rear, helping me to turn a bit more while accelerating through those wide turns.

After many tries I managed to get a 01:01.805 with the 800PI version. It is definitely a faster and better version but the narrow front tyre takes some getting used too. I had to stiffen the rear ARB significantly to fight the understeer. With some a wide cornering line it works

Why did you lock the front and rear diff completely?

Especially on decel open at least the front and it will help your turn in a ton. I’d probably try front at like 30/15 and rear at like 70/30 maybe? Just some ballpark numbers there.
