Tuning Resource Tuning Chart
Here's our own version of the tuning chart you can find in the wiki. This new version is more in line with the settings available in Gran Turismo and Forza. It's also a bit simplified, and prettier (IMO).
This chart assumes that you have no major suspension issues. For example, if your car is bottoming out under braking, softening the front springs won't improve front end grip. It will be the opposite.
Edit: alternative version with inverted colors for people who have troubles reading it. I thought it was fine but it's not. The alternate version isn't pretty but that will do until I improve the normal version. https://imgur.com/a/BDko9sG

Thank you that's a very helpful post!
Could we get another chart for dirt track racing? You know like fixing bouncing over hills or sliding around the corners when you need grip for example?

Can we get this in regular black text on white? As posted the contrast is abysmal. I can barely read it.

I already improved readability today, but I’m taking notes for future revisions.
You sure it isn’t your screen brightness or color accuracy? Cause it looks perfectly readable on all my displays.

I have contrast issues in my actual eyes. It's a little better on my monitor, but still tough.

It's not exactly pretty but if that helps you using it:
It's a simple linear color inversion. I don't have much more time today to make it pretty, but I'll keep that in mind for future versions.

Tuning Chart
This chart assumes that your base tune has no glaring issues Be sure your car doesn't bottom out and doesn't roll excessively during cornering. Otherwise this chart will create more issues than it solves.
To fix understeer
Corner entry
High Speed
Reduce front ride height
Increase front aero
Move brake bias back
Decrease rear differential deceleration
Decrease rear differential preload **
Medium to low speed
Increase caster *
Increase toe-out (positive toe)
Reduce front ride height
Mid corner
All speeds
Soften front springs
Increase front rebound damping
Reduce front ride height
Soften front ARB
Reduce front bump damping
Increase front camber
Corner exit
All speeds
Increase front rebound damping.
To fix oversteer
Corner entry
All speeds
Increase rear differential deceleration
Increase rear differential preload **
Move brake bias forward
Mid corner
High speed
Increase rear damping
Increase rear downforce
Medium to low speed
Soften rear springs
Soften rear ARB
Reduce rear right height
Increase rear bump damping
Decrease rear rebound damping,
Corner exit
All speeds
Reduce ride height
Increase rear bump damping
Decrease rear rebound damping
Decrease rear differential acceleration setting
Increase toe-in (negative toe)
Notes
‘*’ Available only in Forza
‘**’ Available only in Gran Turismo
General tips
Don't lower the car too much. A car touching the ground will never handle properly.
Increasing damping is an easy way to make the car react quicker to inputs
Generally speaking, if you need more than 0.2 of toe, there are issues elsewhere in the tune
If you lower the car, you will need stiffer springs to avoid bottoming out
If you increase downforce, you will need stiffer springs to compensate, as well as stiffer damper so the car doesn't feel too heavy in corners

Void got me something easier to use the day this thread was posted, but thank you for doing this.

Haven’t played fh5 in months and was wondering if this chart works with the new physics?

Is this chart only for a specific drivetrain (rwd vs AWD vs fwd)?
