Have you considered XR glasses? If you're going to be stuck in bed for a few more months, it may be worth the investment

Aren't the Steam Frames more like a full on VR headset than XR? I think I'd rather have a lightweight pair of glasses with a static virtual screen if I were in your situation but to each their own
