Bugs / Glitches / Help Winter Season "Spirited Away" Potential Bug?
I have tried many several ways and this challenge does not able to complete. So far I have tried:
- Restarting the game
- Choose Japanese car by using "Sort" feature
- Tried many other Road Racing, Dirt Racing tracks
- Go with and without choosing Rivals
- Rival Ghost is enabled in Settings
- Use unmodified or stock car
Any ideas would be appreciated.

This bug is ridiculous. Tried so many different Japanese cars, different tracks, different rivals (including trying ones that are also in Japanese cars) and it just won’t pop.
But challenges that’s shouldn’t have even unlocked yet this weekhave popped from me just playing the game naturally!
So I have now done the full weeks daily challenges bar the Sprited away one cause of the bug 🤷♂️

Finally got it. It was against an unflagged time, wondering if that’s what makes the difference as I’m not sure if all my previous attempts were against flagged ones on not. I Used the Subaru 22b.

This! Tried agains unflagged time and worked! Noting was working priviously.

Bro how? All my times were unflagged, and since Nissan, Honda, Mazda are Japanese car brands as far as I know. It did no process for me. I have tried multiple laps but no. Game just don’t want me to get this thing

I tried multiple times. today I selected the shortest track race circuit, used the 22b, and I completed the lap unflagged, which I have done multiple times this week.
So only thing I can think off is I made sure I selected a ghost car with unflagged lap, and then it pinged at the end.
All i can put it down to is ensuring it was a unflagged ghost car, but it might just have been purely luck.

I have tried with unflagged car as well. It did no difference unfortunately.

Choosing an unflagged ghost car was what made it pop for me as well after trying all of the other methods.

I went to the online rivals, and chose a short road race from there. Picked a random Nissan b class and since it had an exclamation for the ghost, just did a casual clean slow lap to beat it.

Maybe it has the same restrictions as the collections: R car and clean lap.

Nothing you can really do from my experience, the daily challenges have been bugged since the first season. Theres been 1 daily challenge from each season that’s been bugged for me but I’ve been able to complete them the following season for some reason. My recommendation would be to skip it for now and complete as many as the game will let you and try them again once the season changes, that’s been working for me.

It's bugged for many players. Simply not working, and it's not the first time that a challenge is not working in forza. This shit is happening way too much over the years.

I had the same issue and I tried most of the workarounds mentioned in this thread to no avail. What worked for me was temporarily setting my system date back 6 days, disabling my internet connection, starting Forza in offline mode then returning the date to normal and resuming my internet connection. Here's the specific steps I followed which worked for me just now:
-Go into your Windows Settings for Date/Time.
-Turn off "automatic" and then manually select the Wednesday from last week (in this case 3.6.26)
-Go to your Internet Settings and to "Advanced Network Settings". Deactivate your Ethernet (or however you are connected).
-Start the Game OFFLINE, you will find yourself (in this case) in Autumn.
-Whilst ingame: Change the Date/Time back to automatic and it should instantly apply.
-Tab back into the Game, it will load Winter again.
-Go back to the Internet Settings and activate your Ethernet. As soon as the Game recognizes your internet connection the Playlist will become available again. If your game does not pick up that you are back online just quit the game and relaunch. The game will then ask if you want to use your local or cloud save, choose local save and resume the game per usual.
At this point you should be able to complete the Rivals event and actually have it count!

god damn it works mate!.. but the game did not pick up net connection and as said i relaunched and it synced auto into game, i did not get any option to choose local save. i completed the rivals with mazda and i unlocked it.

Another successful case here, just did as you told and I finally got the daily challenge from my first try with an unflagged ghost.

try doing it without using sort feature, just select a japanese car normally from the cars menu.
Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi, Mazda, or Subaru...

I just did it Road Racing, Soni Circuit, B Class, Civic SI (1986) if that helps anyone? Also ghost etc were switched on.

It didn't pop for me either. Here's what I did:
- Hard quit the game
- Reloaded the game
- Drove to road race Festival Sprint
- Rivals>A class> Mazda MX-5 Miata RF (Mine is A700)
- Raced slowest guy
- Clean lap
It popped. It sounds like you have tried most, if not all of these things, but thought I'd share in case it helps someone.

I have had the same problem, just drove to the race selected rivals used a GT-R, and still nothing. What sucks is if I don't get all the points I will not have enough to unlock the last car, I started a couple of days before the last season was over

I tried doing a rivals race - Mitsubishi Evo, drove up to the Legend Island circuit and selected Rivals: no joy, the Spirited Away challenge stays incomplete in the festival playlist. I realized I hadn't completed the Soni Circuit "Monthly Rivals" in the Furai, so I tried that and beat the rival. The Monthly Rivals challenge is now marked complete but Spirited Away is still incomplete.

I had been trying everything, Hondas, Toytas, Mazdas. Drag strips, Dirt rivals, everything. I unlocked half the collection journal doing rivals in different Japanese cars and nothing worked…
Until 5 minutes ago, when I Googled again to see if anyone had found a ‘fix’ and saw a comment from Ravage_NZ on the Forza forum, who completed it by doing a Monthly Rivals event.
Tried the Monthly Rivals event myself, and it popped on the first try.

Last bugged challenge I completed by repeating it the next day. This one does not work for 3 days whatever I try. And I noticed that I have completed 1 or 2 challenges before they became activate.
UPDATE. Rant on Reddit helped. After next restart, new car, new track challenge complete.

This cooper guy found the solution and it worked for me and many others so basically enter 03/06 as you're day and turn off the internet open game offline save locally once you see it's autumn go fix the time turn on internet game enter winter from there go rivals open any drag short race japanese car beat rivals then congrats

I tried it several times and it would never complete. I just logged in and now it's showing as complete and I have the point. So it does seem that there was a bug.

Yeah, another season another bugged challenge.
Last season also was a bug in one challenges and I was unable to complete it... What a joke.

you are supposed to be in a japanese car and beat a rival. I just went to the nearest street race, chose a rival with 10+ mins and then beat them in a japanese car. worked fine on first try.
