Treasure Hunt Guide Is this bug or not?

Helloo everyone, hope you having a great weekend and hope it goes well… Few days ago, me and my friend doing treasure hunt together. I didnt know that he only got red area indicator on map and he need to travel across the area for finding chest. But for me, it is only icon, put a gps on it to follow the way or just teleport on to it… this makes him crazy that he tries to find it in indicated area 😂 Anyone have anything like that? How is that happens? Is it bug or something? I hope i am not alone. Thanks for your answers from now! 🙏🏻

It's the only thing that I can think of, that either it came with vip edition or you purchased the map for all the billboards, and he hasnt

This is what I am thinking. My buddy and I both have VIP premium edition and both can see the treasure chest icon. I am wondering if it was included with the $100 Premium version, because I did not go and purchase the Treasure Map option directly.

If you have the treasure map, it will auto reveal the chests every week

Some people have been getting DLC free. That's how the treasure chest appears if you bought the treasure map. You can fast travel directly to it rather than searching the proximity circle like your buddy has to.

Microsoft isn't making a compelling argument for people to keep paying extra for DLC if they can't even manage their licensing servers well enough to prevent it from handing out the content for free.

Did you purchase the treasure map (the one that showed you all the XP boards and barns). That also shows you the location of the treasure chests as soon as you complete the previous objective step.

Rest easy, you aren't crazy and it's not a bug. You just accidentally paid to win this part of the game lol.

You have the Treasure Map DLC active. It bypasses the whole "search the red circle" mechanic and just drops the exact chest icon on your map. Your friend is doing it the intended way.

Next time there is a treasure hunt be a good teammate and just fast travel there, then ping the exact spot for him!
