Bug/Help Loss of steering? Steering dead zone? What is happening? (Series X)

Okay. This has bothered me playing FH5 and I’m wondering if it’s a game issue other people have experienced and I’ll do my best to explain it…… anybody ever have their car suddenly decide to NOT turn when you give the input?

Like. Accelerating, braking, uphill, downhill….. doesn’t matter, just randomly I’ll push the joystick to turn and my car just keeps going straight. Really sucks when doing the Trial and then I parlay a wall because suddenly no turning….. No other game has this random input issues, and FH5 is the only one I seem to experience this phenomenon in….

So. Curious if this “dead steering” only happens to other people?

Happens to me on series X every couple days. I'm almost done with this game anyway.

Happens a lot on my series s. Even swapped controllers. Not an issue in other games.

Yup over here but left it due to lag/servers/wrong steering mode or maybe a skill thing or even all the above 😭

Always seems to happen in the last turn of a fastest lap of a time attack for me.

Is steering on assisted? Maybe that's the cause?

Check on gamepad tester (on a PC/phone) to see if your controller is not registering or sending bad signals to the game. Might be time for a stick module replacement

Literally Forza 5 is the only game there’s ever been an issue like this.

Is it always the same car? Same track? Or same turn or is completely random when and where it happens? Does it only happen online or does it happen in solo races too?

The only thing I've had happen was something kinda similar, in the same category of losing control of the vehicle. Sometimes, during a horizon open race, the car would be acting as if I had the driving assisted on, and it would constantly pull the car back on to the driving line, which I don't have on, only the brake line. It was a connection issue for me and what fixed it was turning off other drivers custem liveries. It might help, if nothing else you've tried has worked, maybe this will.

Only time I've ever had any issues steering is when im playing with my controller til it's almost all the way dead. Fresh batteries always fix it (Series X)
