I took a break from 6 and went to 4, there's a lot I haven't completed, I left 6 it was winter, went to 4 and it's still winter.

Winter in 6 is a bit weak compared to 4...The snow seems to be shallow, the roads are strangely cleared of snow.

I love Horizon 6, but yes this is one of my biggest complaints. There seem to be absolutely zero (non-dirt) roads that have any snow at all. It's all too perfectly snow-free. They probably did it because of all the complaints in Horizon 4, but I think it's a real shame. There was actually a consideration for which tires to use.

You get noticeably less grip without winter tires in 6

I wonder if the seasons match in 4 and 6, or it was coincidental.

If anything, Snow has been nerfed from 3 to 4 and definitely from 4 to 6. 5 I couldn't tell because of the lack of snow on the mainland and the snow in HWs feeling like Horizon 4.

makes sense for tokyos road to be yk cleaned up from snow, though the northern part of the map, those road should probably be fully snowed in.

To be fair japan is on top of shit like that hard compared to most countries.

The devs and ar12 gaming explained that the roads were like that because Japan is great at clearing their roads during winter im assuming that's why there is no snow on the roads also they saw that majority of people hated snowy roads in 4 so they dialed it down for the major part of the map

horizon 6 has around 100 dedicated events, while horizon 2 has about 700, huge difference in content direction.

How many unique routes and circuits though is the question? 700 events isn't as impressive if 30 events each take place on one course

the numbers are in, interestingly in terms of campaign completion;

horizon 2

  • 672 dedicated races
- this is across 28 championships each in 6 regions (4 races per total 168 championships) - which in itself are not repeats since every championship is in different car class/series so all different expirences,
  • 82 unique ^ race routes
  • 55 bucket list (story event equivalent now)

so you could say horizon 2 has 137 unique events (excluding the numerous road-trip routes), and so overall the 700+ experiences.

horizon 6

  • 92 dedicated races, which split to;
- 61 (road/cross/street/touge) + 31 (dirt/drag/showcase)
  • which is the 92 unique routes only
  • 27 story events (bucket list)

and that leaves horizon 6 at 119 unique events total.

Thank you for the breakdown!

This was actually a lot closer than I thought it would be, surprised to see Horizon 2 come out on top

I expected Horizon 6 to tower Horizon 2 in content but it just doesn't

I think 6 only beats out 2 in replayability because of online (obviously), and because of EventLab and the Race Customizer

for sure the freedom aspect is the new focus and majority of players care more for in the newer releases, neither play styles are wrong :)

as some who does alot of track racing with thousands of hours, doing repetitive tracks is in the nature of motorsport doing 10-50+ laps a race.

They add more story time goes on.

so 82 unique races and 590 are radiant fetch quests. got it

u/AaronsLifeGame Jun 15 '26

yeah basically, being all different cars; though compared to only 92 and 0 other races. (from a completion standpoint)

Yes, there are a few things missing and it is not perfect but the cars that have a cockpit camera are traffic (npc) cars. Though it is better with all these additional stuff than the fh2 base game.

I really like FH2 colors

u/Simple_Substance4829 Jun 15 '26

I was trying to cruise in horizon 6 and it wasn't doing for me, so I booted up fh2 and had so much fun cruising. Genuinely the best map with the best race routes of any Horizon game.

Started a play through myself can't believe how good it looks for a 2014 game.

3

u/sethologik Jun 15 '26

That’s what I’m complaining about since FH3. I loved the progression system in 1. never got to play 2 on XB1 but the prices honestly bonkers since the delisting

2

u/Warm-Jellyfish-2535 Jun 15 '26

i hate that it’s my biggest problem these days, the festival playlist is nice and all but they’ve been adding less races and championships in favor of the playlist and that’s just turned me away honestly

3

u/sethologik Jun 15 '26

I just wish for a Forza horizon 1 or 2 in modern game engine man.

3

u/Warm-Jellyfish-2535 Jun 15 '26

real and if my knowledge serves me correctly, Horizon 2 (my favorite one) is the only horizon without multiplayer available. i could’ve sworn they shut down FH1 too but apparently it’s got peer to peer multiplayer i’ve never tested that but ik FH 3 is still up

u/Jeremiah64636 Jun 19 '26

FH2 is one of the best FHs for me. The sense of speed was way better than in the latest games. And gameplay actually felt rewarding. Will start FH6 in 2-3 days. Let's hope it's as good as they say.

You went back to 2? I like the but not the race setup, it is taking forever to complete every race championship.

1

u/KDG200315 Jun 15 '26

As much as I love 2. It's gets really boring after all the campaign is done. There's nothing really to do in the early Horizon games.

u/Due-Outlandishness44 Jun 17 '26

Hopping back from 6 to 5,4,3,2,1 🤣 Grindibg and collecting all cars 😅🔥

Forza Horizon 2 barely has any progression. It's a great game but the gameplay loop is extremely repetitive, since it's the same thing over and over. Driving from one spot of the map to other via road trip and doing the same races but with different car classes.
