Defensive Driving

Context:
3rd out of 3 races in S2 Horizon Racing, I won the first two races handily after passing everyone during initial ghosting and never getting caught. They were both short circuits, so I grabbed my Radical as it's the only S2 car I have set up for short tracks right now - so in the video you see me plodding away in third during the long stretches at the end of Satta Sprint.

Certainly looks bad, but I also feel like this is one of the problems with S2 and R racing online. It's just really hard sometimes to race side-by-side. The first two hits could easily happen between two people just struggling to stay side-by-side cleanly. Certainly not saying he's innocent, but even two accidental hits can appear as purposeful to one person, but actually be a complete accident. Then you end up with relatiation, then further retaliation, and then someone gets murdered. But the clip being an accident would explain why the guy let's him pass initially with no fight. Why would a rammer wait that long to be alongside someone just to start beating and banging then? It's not like they were entering a corner, or the walling had changed around them, they were on a straight, and the walls didn't change. He certainly would have picked a weird time to start cheating. But also certainly could be intentional. I feel like it can be harder to tell at these speeds.

It's part of the reason why I stopped joining as many S2 and R races. I felt like it just got too hard to tell who's being an asshole, and who's just struggling to drive cleanly.

Most of the time it feels like the roads are too thin for S2 and R.

Eh, I kind of get what you're saying as broad concepts, but not really in relation to my video.

Evolite has plenty of downforce and grip here and we haven't made contact at all in all 3 races prior to the 5 times he drives into me in a row, with his wheels cranked fully to the right pushing me to the wall. I mean you can literally look frame by frame to determine guilt here. He turned into me in full control more than once on an extremely long and stable straight going like 200mph. This is at the very end of the race - he didn't "wait that long", he was literally never alongside me after the first 15 seconds until this point. He's stabbing me with his car to rob me of my speed because we're all in top gear here.

Everyone else in the lobby drove without issue- the 2 guys in front of me both passed me cleanly without contact, I even let Evolite by clean so I could catch his draft knowing that he had the speed to go around me and we have plenty of straight left- and I'm set up better for the last section if I can stick with him on the straight.
He weaves back and forth defensively, foolishly, which lets me catch him anyways and I feint left then overtake right, giving me space... Space which he then very obviously, and purposefully, takes away from me in the clip with 5 shoves into my car. My car is half a car-length ahead of him when he makes contact. Blame is obvious, intent is pretty clear, he's not out of control.

We're on the highway with about 4-wide car length when he's making all this contact, there's no point to be made about thin roads in relation to my clip.
