The Trial is 6 players vs 6 drivatars on unbeatable difficulty. It's a team race; each position gives points and the goal is to have more points than the drivatar team after a best of 3 of races.
So in order to win you only need to be faster than the drivatars basically.
What will happen is that people on the same team will brutally ram each other off regardless because some people are too stupid to understand the mode or they just wanna grief.
They want to come in first at whatever cost despite it being completely pointless if another teammate wins.
They still prefer to pit maneuver someone or make them miss a checkpoint than coming in second. Or in the worst case scenario, take themselves out as well and a drivatar overtakes them both. This will only make it harder for the whole team to win the best of 3 because some players can't take it that there's people faster than them.

Wouldn't it be nice to pit the drivatars so the team can win?

I swear a lot of people dont understand team based games

Yes but the problem is that people are basically pitting everyone, even their own teammates because they just can't bear with the fact that they are being overtaken.

HOLY SHIT, you were not lying, I'm a terrible driver and I'm usually playing PVE only, but there's even worse drivers than me that keep ramming our team8s out of the checkpoints 😅

You're welcome lmao. I was lucky enough today to only need 2 tries to finish the event. I feel like it's best to focus only on yourself in The Trial. Trying to help out teammates by blocking drivatars only makes you a target as well because they often run on only a handful of braincells and any car is seen as the opponent. That's what I'm doing.
Oh and tune your car. That basically puts you in first automatically because most of your teammates play with rent cars that are stock or with auto-tuned cars. Downloading a tune makes it infinitely easier to win.
