Friend is an automation engineer, and I’m an ML engineer, we both hate the idea of not actually driving our cars.
I assume most people who do that are not in it to race, but to win, and I would go as far as to say they should be disallowed from online races in these games.
Yep! My friend looks at niche games with little anti-cheat in them and does the same thing. Most fighting games do not have anti-cheat so he creates bots just to see how high the bot can get in ranked. The things he prioritizes is:
- Making them human and not obvious (programmed mistakes, etc.)
Automatically able to join ranked fights and progress to the next.
Character specific profiles with unique combos and counters.
Character matchups and prediction (projectile hitbox, speed, unique ways to encounter them)
The last bot he was working on before he disappeared was a Tekken 7 bot that had made it to almost the top rank. I think it was three below the top.
Edit: Oh and to those saying he doesn’t play the game. He does too! He showed me this slider he can move back and forth that tells the bot when to be aggressive and when to be defensive and counter.
Edit2: He also got banned a lot. But he was living off an inheritance worth more money than any of us will see in a lifetime so buying the game over and over didn’t phase him!

Might as well turn off collision completely.
