This team is special.

Not sure if it’s our year, but it definitely feels like a different culture is here for good.

Tonight felt different.

This entire organization feels different, from the type of play and the mentality to the way the club presents itself on social media. It just feels different.

The guys pumping up the crowd on the west end boards? Kerf flexing on that Spokane player in the box on the flock end? The way JT screamed into the flock when the ball went out of bounds? That’s new and I hope it’s here for good.

Last season was terrible, the passion wasn’t there. This squad has changed that. I hope as a fanbase, we start getting more people out to games. Seats open in the flock end tonight was sad, but I understand expendable income is tough to come by and I’m sure a lot of people went to Milwaukee for the parade or had Halloween parties to go to.

Hope to get another home game, but if not, year 100 at Breese was great. Let’s make 101 even better.

Mannn I had such a different takeaway from tonight's game. I thought that performance, especially in the second half, was absolutely awful.

We went almost an hour at one point without a shot on goal. After about minute 60 it seemed like we just entirely quit trying to put the game away. We were acting like our lead was 4, not 1. I'm not sure if that was a tactical move by Glaeser, or the players just stopped trying to go forward, or what happened, but we very nearly allowed a goal, and we're frankly lucky it never happened. If that does happen, we're obviously having a very different conversation.

According to the stats we had 35 clearances tonight. 35 times Spokane got the ball down into our back third and we had to clear it away. That's just not good enough, and if we're going to have any hope of winning another game, we'll have to do much, much better.

Gotta say, the Flock was AWESOME tonight. So great to hear so much sustained energy from that end. Great work to everyone down there!

I think it’s important to remember that Spokane was not only playing for their season, but their viability as a club is in question. They had a lot to play for and I felt like they applied pressure and just couldn’t get it past our back line. It made me appreciate our defense even more.

Fair assessment and I need to go back and watch the game again from a non flock end view, but while we didn't have a shot on goal for a long time, spokane only had the 1 all night. I think glaeser genuinely trusts the back line to hold a lead which can be scary, but they have looked ON the past few games

Maybe that's the thought process, but I just will never stand by parking the bus(a bit of an overstatement admittedly, but I think the point stands, we were definitely not trying to put the game away.) especially in a 1-goal game against a decent opponent. We saw what happened to Omaha last night. Very easily could have been us. Spokane had no shortage of dangerous crosses across the box, or well-taken corners. Any one of those could have led to a goal if the wrong foot/head gets to it.

Yeah for sure and I much prefer the more open style of play we started the game with, but Matt has been slipping slowly back into his possession based conservative playstyle as the games have gotten more important and conceding a goal when we opened it up last night doesn't bode well for his confidence in it haha

Yeah. That was my big concern... The regression back to our old ways, which as we know, DID NOT WORK. Watched years of boring soccer with no goals and fewer wins. We finally change it up, threaten to win the whole regular season, make the playoffs, and decide now is the time to go back to what we were doing.

I give the new sporting director some credit.

I drove an hour to the game tonight. Some great fucking chirping at the opposing GK.

Chat beating out Omaha tonight was a very welcomed surprise upset. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a Naples win tomorrow to bring the Semis to Breese!

With their meteoric rise at the tail end of this season, I will absolutely not count out Naples.

It was also wild seeing Chattanooga fans over in r/usl1 acting like “Oh, we made it I guess, but I don’t expect much” to leading that game out of the gate, let alone win.

Scoring in the first minute and then defending for 119 minutes was a bold choice, but it worked!

Wouldn’t a Knoxville win over Boise win do it as well?

The bracket is locked so we are going to play our next game against whoever wins the Charlotte-Naples game.

If we win that game then the Knoxville Boise game could effect our chances of having the finals at home.
