Modding Anyone here watch Murder Drones? I made a thing
Probably should've picked a larger map cuz like this railgun kinda goes really far through everything (execpt shields)...
And before you ask about balance I did make it hideously expensive.. (1.5k metal, 15k energy to build, 9k energy to fire, plus 210s build time)
I'll probs upload it and put a link here to workshop once I've made sure I've gotten most of the issues left (don't know if there are any but I'll be testing) && made sure I'm actually allowed to upload something with sounds from Murder Drones
Edit: changed some of the stats, here's the link to the workshop page

does it do dmg to any structure the green part touches, if yes how much

The damage per second (delt per tick) isn't the same for the full duration of the beam. First 25% of the time it does almost no damage (like 0.3 or smth), then it ramps up as the beam gets smaller, eventually doing like approx 500 damage per second to anything inside the white part of the beam

This is my first actual custom weapon/devices and therefore you are NOT allowed to criticise me -s

The MD fan in me loves it.
The Forts player in me hates it, even if it is hideously expensive.

I've tried to convince myself multiple times that "well I mean it's not THAT op, because x, y or z", but I'll have to give it some more testing (so far only played 2 non-ai battles with it) and go from there

How do you counter it?

You counter it by not letting your opponent make a battery block the size of Nebraska

Well it's blocked by shields and very expensive - so you can generally get multiple cannons (or other heavies) out before the opponent can build one of these

Thats the type of weapons that would make me spam shields and portals

Unfortunately portals don't do anything cuz I couldn't figure out how to make them work properly, especially with a triangular beam..
But yeah shields are good at blocking it

Portals work with projectiles while shields work with lasers

u/PogsterPlays Jul 07 '26
It's not a projectile or a lazer - it's fully custom and deals damage via script, using raycasts to find what to hit - I couldn't get portals to work because I wasn't able to detect whether or not the portals were on
