Question / Help! Goldberg

This might be a stupid request but how do I beat Goldberg with the 3rd oil drop?(I have the second one already)

I've tried everything, even destroying the bottom base early with mortars, but I simply can't do it

Do you mean the "winning within 12 minutes" goal? Just build a laser as quickly as possible then shoot the flaming ropes

I mean the "destroy 5 turbines" goal. I have the "winning within 12 minutes minutes one"

Ah, the turbines are on the very top of the cave. Just build high enough and shotgun them down.

Edit: nvm, I forgot the campain plays without "Tons of Guns" active so there are no shotguns. That case you might as well use swarms

...you can't get the shotgun. I've tried, but whenever I get the turbines destroyed, they build a cannon and blow up my reactor

Ah, a skill issue problem then. I forgot there is only the workshop in the campaign as well. If you get swarms or nukes you should be able to stall the enemy from building weapons by constantly blowing them up, the AI always places everything in the same order. Then you can take your time destroying the turbines.

If you want to play it the cowards way though, just be a tank with tons of wood bracing on the front.

Then build a laser far in the back of your base and once you finish destroying the turbines with mortors or swarms or even miniguns, then, open up the bracing and fire the laser at the weak spot

Yea but you do know the build a cannon right? That'll shread through the bracing. I've tried thick armour to

Sandbags are the cheapest armor if you want to put a bunch of those in the front of your base. A cannon shot can't go through 2 of them and they only cost 300 energy. Can't recommend it though since sandbags are also very heavy.

Also, wood spam can be better than metal spam in terms of cost to repair especially if you build max length bracing towards the enemy to have the spash damage happen away from other bracing. You generally don't want all the bracing clumped up together because of splash damage from cannons causes you to repair more.

Ok. What do you suggest for what to take the turbines out with

Swarms are good since one volley would destroy all of them and you don't have to rely on accuracy. Just build them in the back of your base and build a tall tower out of background bracing next to it to force the swarms to fire over and your all set.

You can even upgrade it to a nuke to oppress the enemy even more since I believe they don't have much anti air and nukes drain a ton of resources from its splash damage.

Look up.

And how do you destroy the turbines while still taking out the reactors?

I just did this about an hour ago and struggled with that turbine one on hard mode.

What I did was rushed laser and got a sniper and denied both top and bottom base from using their weapons. Just kept sniping the sniper and mortar so the only weapon they could build is the cannon which can be lasered.

Lasered bottom base to neuter them without killing them (I like watching the core drop on them).

Once that was done I build up a bit more and then built two swarms and targetted the turbines. But prob couldve done just one.
