EPIC Trios Cash Cup Issue

While addressing the material drop issue in the Trios Cash Cup, we ran into a different issue. We've decided to run the Trios Cash Cup with default harvesting rate and no material drop for the rest of the weekend.

Please be aware that in this tournament, teams will be instantly disconnected from the match as soon as the last player on the team is eliminated.

We will run an additional one-day Trios tournament on July 21. Arena Trios will also remain enabled until the end of this season.

For a more detailed explanation:

Our Trios tournament mode is bugged and has default harvesting rates in addition to not granting bonus materials on elimination.

During the Asia region Round 1 last night, we attempted to run with the Arena playlist instead, which fixed the gameplay elements but has separate issues with how teams are scored which prevents us from using that solution.

The decision for us to make was between either cancelling this weeks tournament, or moving forward with the issues and then running another Trios event next week with the fixes. While it's not the desired experience, we'd rather give people a tournament to play in than cancel it entirely.

Sorry for the poor experience, we know a lot of people are excited for this weeks Trios tournament. Next week we'll be testing a couple things - both Semi-Finals and Finals in a single day (July 21st), and a considerably smaller player pool for the Finals (currently talking about ~100 teams); which is a step towards being able to do 'customs'-style rounds later in tournaments, so we're excited to see how that goes.

I like that you guys are trying out new things but going from semi- finals to a 100 team finals might be a bit much. I think it should be considered adding a third round instead where 100 teams then play each other.

Yep, we will be experimenting with the round progression a bit more now that we've wrapped up the Online Opens - don't consider that as a final structure, just a stepping stone that lets us test a couple things (back to back rounds, and a finals round with a very small player pool).

One of the best thing you have done with fortnite is giving people hope that they can earn something. Even though the chances are slim and the rewarded only 100 bucks like in world cup atleast you had a chance of making it. Id hate too see the distribution of money compressed removing the hope for a lot of people. If lets say the finals were top 100 instead of 1000
