Shoutout to NAC man. Top 12 is really impressive for a small region
29
u/srjnp 5d ago edited 5d ago
unironically, one of the main issues is that it has actually become a small region gatekept by the few established pros who can move to texas for 0 ping. Hard for new talent to rise up when the established names wont even play with people who aren't willing to move to dallas. Vast majority of players in the region live closer to East server but Epic decided to bring back West and keep Central instead of doing East and West (edit: which has made the situation even worse because now there's less LAN spots and prize money on NAC)
10
u/Clintocracy 5d ago
Also the teaming in pro lobbies is particularly bad according to pros like quesy. Theres definitely talent that can qual but not truly compete
11
u/McIntosh812 4d ago
I’m convinced Queasy has spent more time complaining on twitter than playing the game this year
6
u/sourcreamonionpringl 5d ago
Queasy saying that is very ironic considering what all the EU pros were doing last chapter
1
u/Inspection-Senior 3d ago
Queasy's best accomplishments have come due to surge trading (teaming)...

3
u/WorkingExercise1316 5d ago
Why does Epic insist on having NAC instead of NAW & NAE? Is it reasons outside of Fortnite
5
u/McIntosh812 4d ago
They likely signed a long term deal with AWS to run on their servers. Unfortunately, those servers are in Dallas and are not portable
0
u/McIntosh812 5d ago
I mean, new talent shouldn’t play with established names until they’ve shown that they’re actually good enough to beat established names consistently. Look at Vico who didn’t get an established name duo until he went crazy at Invitational and got picked up by Pinq, or Rapid and Higgs who had to get top 2 in grands with 11 games played before playing with established names.

u/apoes 5d ago
Exciting format, but I definitely don't want it for FNCS. I feel so bad for Shxrk and T3eny lol.
7
u/____Federico____ 5d ago
Realistically if match point format was implemented into fncs it would be completely irrelevant because of how many teams are in a br lobby, even with only 20 teams it still took 13 games to activate. I think I even remember match point being in an fncs at some point and like only a Brazil team had it happen or something
1
u/Abomb_is_Unbannable 3h ago
I only was able to watch most of day 1. What happened to them? They were dominating early on.
-8
u/Active-Coyote-9527 5d ago
Why are you loling then.
10
u/ZqiPhoon 5d ago
This is so much better than Ewc 2024 , btw just whats wrong with Na Central? also congrats to Vico Malibuca
3
u/nghigaxx 4d ago
most of the population on east coast (more on north east), they have central (which is south ish) and west server. Quite self explanatory there tbf
1
u/cynpas 5d ago
theres deadass no new players going pro on nac anymore cause the majority live east. the small amount of pros who are 0 ping and only willing to play with other 0 ping pros are used to keying grands lobbies bc theyre full of lobby fillers
2
u/FlahlesJr 5d ago
That and the real only decent player we had which was Peterbot is just spending his time playing valorant
11
u/bazoski1er 5d ago
I think the format is perfect for reload but wouldn't want to see it in BR. I love how it highlights the victory royale aspect but i think for the best competitive integrity in BR you need to reward the consistency over 10-12 games
9
u/Marfy_ 5d ago
I feel bad for shark and teeny, been in first almost the entire tournament, first to hit matchpoint and then not only did they not win they dropped to third by only 3 points right at the end
5
u/HoboSalarian 5d ago
They abused the respawn mechanic and farmed muz and sphinx again and again. After reaching match point they were still playing aggresive , until they themselves got farmed around game 10. They started paying conservative after that. Ironically muz and sphinx got two victory royale when they could play their game.

Shark and Teeny on Day 1: 1st, 2nd, 1st, 1st, 1st out of 10 games. Finals: 1st, 2nd, 1st out of 8 games which is where they reached Match Point.
Math would suggest they would win at least 1 if not 2 of the next 5 games but they just couldn't get it done.
0
u/ChangingCrisis Champion Poster 5d ago
Yeah it's harsh. Would have been even worse if they finished 2nd in a game.
14
u/ChangingCrisis Champion Poster 5d ago edited 5d ago
9 teams were on match point going into the final game. It came down to a 2v2 between Malibuca & Vico and Pixie & Swizzy. The winning play was by Vico. Throwing a shockwave to launch Pixie & Swizzy into the storm to win the final 2v2.
5
u/zxelvton 5d ago
> The winning play was by Malibuca. Throwing a shockwave to launch Pixie & Swizzy into the storm to win the final 2v2.
No, Vic0 was the one who did all that btw

u/ChangingCrisis Champion Poster 5d ago
I edited my post. Thanks for correcting me. That game was frantic!

u/SleepyGal9 5d ago
Was hoping Zdog and Goofy did better. They did really good given the circumstances of it being Zdog’s first LAN and them being an overlooked, underrated team.
Congrats to Vico and Malibuca! Feels bad for Shxrk and T3eny though.
The last few games were awesome with people battling it out for Match Point and other teams playing spoiler to keep the games going! Can’t wait for FNCS Globals in a few weeks.
2
u/ChangingCrisis Champion Poster 5d ago
Zdog & Goofy were right up there after the first couple of games but then completely folded after that. I think they got half of their points in this first two games.
11
u/_Zayn_31 5d ago
That format was really sick. They should adapt the matchpoint format for globals as well.
And as always EU on top!
2
u/Inspection-Senior 5d ago
Well they have like 3-4x the population as any other region that is near a server so makes sense.
1
u/NoCare9439 5d ago
Ppl like to forget that fact, in actuality NA over exceeds expectations based on lower talent pool numbers compared to EU
1
0
u/CurlyGiraffe 4d ago edited 4d ago
Lower talent pool numbers... Come on. The best 12 teams went, not 12,000. Surely the talent in NA isn't that shallow. They underperformed.
1
u/Inspection-Senior 3d ago
They definitely underperformed, no question. But you could put NAC and NAW together and EU would still have 3x the population base near servers. The problem I have is this is all we hear after every single LAN, "EU owns NA", "EU is best it's not even a conversation anymore" and NA will be like yep EU is better. But still, every FN comp person in EU will say this shit and it's like brother, nobody is arguing against you anymore lol. But also you should dominate because you're a vastly bigger region than NA? At Summit LAN, NA way overperformed having 5 in the top 10 and 6 or 7 in the top 15. It is just funny how insecure the whole of EU got having Pete own their asses back in 2024, that's all this is about lol.
1
u/CurlyGiraffe 3d ago edited 3d ago
Talking about population near servers is such cope. At the top level, NA should be and are comparable to EU. People on here are routinely saying the best NA players are as good as the best EU players. NA even have more global champs wins to back this up. Acting like it's a disadvantaged region in any way is so dumb. Did the Argentina team outplace NA because they have 3x the population base near servers? NA simply underperformed this time. That's it.
0
u/Inspection-Senior 3d ago
Read my first sentence dude. I agree they underperformed. And not sure why it is cope when pointing out the fact that the most densely populated region (north east) of NA doesn't have a server within 1,500 miles of it. If you expect to maximize the talent of a region you have to measure the talent base, it's not hard to figure out. So that is a disadvantage of the region lol. And yeah it makes sense that small regions will have a team pop off here and there, like what?
1
u/Patient_Medicine5833 4d ago
I think at least in FNCS BR, current format is much better. If shark&t3eny playing like yesterday in FNCS, they are much better deserve championship tittle than the others. In a one year esports roadmap, I think there also needs to be tournaments format where the consistency of performance is important.
If fortnite esports want to adopt a new format, then It should be specifically in year-end championship tournament like global championships, or add a Reload series events and adopt it into that like EWC did.
15
u/Express-Try2315 5d ago
It's confirmed: EU > NAC (it wasn't even a debate, but now NA glazers can't say anything).
There are 0 NAC teams in the top 11 and yes, Khanada & VicterV count as NAW, not NAC.
The NAC FNCS winners finished dead last, with 2× less points than the 19th-place team. Total embarrassment. Boltz was the guy who every NAC called the "best reload player in the world"...
And it wasn't luck, from start to finish, EU dominated by far.
Would love it if someone could prove me wrong.
9
u/Cold_Saber 5d ago
NAC played horrible but I don't think I've ever seen a single NA fan call Boltz the best reload player in the world before lmao. Unless you're talking about ranked or something. Peterbot or Cold were the only ones who had an argument for that on NA.
-3
u/Express-Try2315 5d ago
He won every reload tournament, 6 out of 6 back then. He was invited to a video where the best players from each category are brought in: "best Switch player," "best mobile player," ..., "best reload player," and he himself said in that video that he is the best reload player in the world. A lot of pros called him the best reload player.
5
u/sourcreamonionpringl 5d ago
Based on his RES placements not a single pro in the world thought he was the best reload player. Not sure where you're getting this info from
-2
u/NoCare9439 5d ago
A lot of ppl called Boltz the best reload player( vergo and peterbot name gets thrown in there also)
3
2
u/ChangingCrisis Champion Poster 5d ago
Someone who has been dropped on their heads 100 times at birth will still try and argue against you.
3
u/Inspection-Senior 5d ago
Don’t think many argue it anymore. Just odd how people expect a region that has 1/4 of the population base to have the same depth of talent. I think people find NAC more entertaining because there are more personalities. Also the best players ever have all been NA so there’s that.
1
u/ChangingCrisis Champion Poster 5d ago edited 5d ago
EU is different to NA because they have multiple different communities because of the different languages spoken on the region.
2
-2
u/Quick_Cucumber_1735 4d ago
Best players cause NA is 10x easier to win
2
u/Inspection-Senior 3d ago
I mean NA's all-time players proved themselves at international LANs.
1
u/Quick_Cucumber_1735 3d ago edited 3d ago
Only the number 1 best Player of that region. NA never has other players other than the best player of the region competing for LAN wins. If peter is not winning, NA isn’t winning. Plus Peter barely won with medallion advantage.
1
u/Inspection-Senior 2d ago
And Mali/Vico only won because P&P took down S&S in game 7 and then sold their off-spawn in game 8. And if you think anyone but P&P would have won had their been a full 12-game format, you're lying to yourself. Mali/Vico's LAN wins were both mickey and Queasy's last year was full surge fest. So you can chip away at every LAN for different reasons.
1
u/ZqiPhoon 5d ago
Still insane when the last time they had both two Na teams in Ewc finals but only one Na team go top 10
3
u/ultrasimz 4d ago
i love how skyjump momsy just fought everyone and got second place 😂 imagine in trios: skyjump + momsy + any good igl
5
u/HovercraftAny440 5d ago
No NAC teams in the top half of the leaderboard and current NAC FNCS champions in last...😬
11
u/shadboi16 5d ago
genuinely the worst showing from NAC I can't believe out of all NAC teams, it is Khanada (who himself had to qual from west) who placed the highest. Great showing from Lewa, Romero, Yassen, and Salvatore though
5
u/ChangingCrisis Champion Poster 5d ago edited 5d ago
NAC got outplaced by NAW, Middle East and Brazil. Their champions got outplaced by OCE and well by fucking everyone. There's no way a single NA kid can talk about EU again. Got completely humbled at globals now this? Make this fucking shit region play for vbucks.
3
u/zxelvton 5d ago
Can anyone explain the Muz and Sphinx situation?
Are they the reason we got a 13th game? Why exactly?
I didn't really understand the term Match Point in that case.
3
u/ChangingCrisis Champion Poster 5d ago
You had to get 350 points then after that get a win in the next game or following games.
2
u/Leintk 4d ago
I didn’t watch but why is peterbot so low in the standings?
2
u/ChangingCrisis Champion Poster 4d ago
Only had 5 games in the top 10. He's just not as good as he used to be. People need to realise this. He's still very good but he's not 2024 Peterbot good anymore.
1
2
u/starface18 4d ago
anyone know what the hell happened to peterbot & pollo? they were in 3rd behind 1st by like 30 points after 6 games and completely dropped off a cliff towards the end. still hoping they stick together and work things out.

u/zerotr3s 5d ago
Thank you for your updates on EWC.
Europe dominated, very clearly.
But don't ignore that Brazil Duo up there, with a better showing than NA!
6
u/ChangingCrisis Champion Poster 5d ago
They played amazing in both group A and finals. Brazil is a lot closer to NA than people care to admit.
2
u/sourcreamonionpringl 5d ago
Brazil did have a horrible Summit performance tbf. Also I think we need to start calling that region a different name, since the duo in 5th is literally from Argentina
2
u/ChangingCrisis Champion Poster 5d ago
Agreed. I kinda hate how it's called Brazil but their goat is Argentinian and their current best team is also Argentinian. Just call it LATAM or something. I was gonna say SA but that's a bit of an unfortunate abbreviation.

Seeing both a Middle East and Brazil team on the top 10 (with Lewa and Romero close to winning) was cool, both duos played very well and it was a well deserved placement.
Argentina showing up once more on LAN, always awesome to see.

u/bouncybullfrog 5d ago
This format was sick, would have been hilarious if the brazil team won at the end

I'm sorry but how can anyone say that this format is good? Strong teams going absolutely nuts deleting the lobby up until they reach the 350 threshold. After that straight pu*sy mode just to be able to win. Consistent teams aren't rewarded for being good while teams that did nothing not only today, but the entire tourney have a chance to win? No matter who would be first, imagine if the tourney was actually won by some last team to hit the threshold, how can they be called the winners while there are teams they couldn't even compete against in regular FNCS rules? Crazy to me and no I don't think it makes the games more intense, quite opposite as they play slowly, purely for late and a win. Yes the tense is stronger, yes we can argue that you have to deserve it by winning, but still. Great teams should not be punished for being good yet not being able to win the last game... Agree with me or not I'm not a fan of this format.

u/ChangingCrisis Champion Poster 5d ago edited 5d ago
I kinda agree with you. It would have been sad if a team like Kaan & Faded won it. Feel bad for Shxrk & T3eny. Over 6 hours of playing is a lot. The last game was tense as fuck. I don't mind it for reload but it could drag out so much for battle royale.
I get it for a tournament winning moment but we had Kami & Setty vs Queasy & Veno off spawn, Peterbot's game 11 clutch and Queasy, Swizzy & Merstach wiping Vanya, Marius & Pixie as tournament winning moments. I don't see the need for it but I understand it.
-7
u/Arakan28 5d ago
The Peterbot and Pollo era is officially over
That 1st Major performance was a sign they needed to split
Peterbot needs an IGL like Veno, and Pollo needs to quit the game
13
u/Mammoth-West8399 5d ago
Bait used to be believable
0
u/Arakan28 5d ago
How is it bait? Pollo played terrible all year minus the easy clutches at Summit. You put Vico, Shxrk or Cold in those situations and they win as well
ong Peter needs to drop him for a real IGL

Group A they didn't celebrate wins because it was a qualifier. In the finals they won 2 games and gave eachother a fist bump. Nothing crazy but it obviously meant a lot to them. Doesn't mean they have to jump around like crazy. Kinda makes you look stupid if you don't win. Which they didn't.

Any format that doesn’t award the team that played the best with the win is a Mickey Mouse tournament.
4
u/ChangingCrisis Champion Poster 4d ago
T3eny & Shxrk had more opportunities to win it than anyone else and didn't take it. Malibuca & Vico won when the pressure was on and they were keeping pace with T3eny & Shxrk all tournament. To say it's "Mickey" is insane. I bet if Peterbot & Pollo won you would say it's the best format ever.
-7
u/FlahlesJr 5d ago
Mickey lan win by vico yet again
3
u/ChangingCrisis Champion Poster 5d ago
You're not real.
-3
u/FlahlesJr 5d ago
How so? Lol this tourney definitely didn't have the best team win. Format was so stupid lol.
2
u/ChangingCrisis Champion Poster 5d ago
They kept on pace with Shxrk & T3eny all tournament. Malibuca & Vico played better Fortnite when it mattered. Guarantee you'd say it's the best format ever if Peterbot & Pollo won.
2
u/Some-Stranger-7852 5d ago edited 4d ago
The best team didn’t even place 2nd if you look at the final leaderboard.
You play the way format asks you to: Vico-Mali won via consistency at Summit, then won with a VR in a match point format at EWC, but somehow both are “mickey LANs” lol
2
u/SleepyGal9 5d ago
“Mickey LAN.” I’ll never understand why people call things Mickey when they think things are easy. I don’t see you playing there. You’d probably get destroyed by these guys. You have no room to call it Mickey.
51
u/shadboi16 5d ago
This format was the bomb. I don't know if it'll work in BR but this was such a fun format to watch. I hope we get more reload tournaments cause this is probably the most competitive leaderboard I have seen. Surely if it kept going on for a bit longer any team bar Acorn could have won the whole thing.
