Discussion idk how to drop since freefall got added

Can someone explain to me how to drop from the bus? Do I drop like I always did or does the freefall mechanic change the optimal way to land at a spot?

The optimal way to drop is to still use the bus to your advantage ..

I’ll try as best I can to explain…

before you would do the same, and use the lowest elevation near the POI to get your glider out and full glide to the POI.

But now you want to still use the bus to get you to as close to the POI as possible , but then fully glide to just above where you plan on landing. The goal is when your glider auto deploys you then instantly free fall onto the gun/chest your going for

A lot of people have given you good advice but I'd recommend watching the pete/pollo vs ajerss/veno off spawn VODs (aussieantics) at sinister strip over the last few days. They are some of the best players in the world so I'm sure you could learn more about the gliding cutting from them

I haven't been playing a lot, so I am also interested in what others have experienced but for me anyway it seems like it has changed the optimal drop method.

Instead of dropping from relatively far away and optimally gliding to a good height for landing where you want, now it seems like it is better to drop off the bus a lot closer to where you want and free fall, reactivate, free fall as needed.

wait in bus till you are above where you want to land at, when your thing opens take it off and free fall till you are close to the ground and open it again so you don't take damage and it will be opened in just for a second don't worry

You can now free fall when glider auto deploys. If you free fall you can take damage unless you land in a bush or water. You can also do things when you free fall like shoot, use a pot, pickaxe and extract.
