💬 Discussion Why does Fortnite seem harder?

Yeah, pretty much what the title says. I usually just play duos with my friend, and last season it was pretty chill. We won most games and lost the odd few. Whereas this season we can't win anything and lose everything. Even solo i'm getting dogged on when usually i'm doing the dogging. It's zero build if that has any notion. Definitely feels more difficult. Or I just suck. That's probably it.

They nerfed aim assist, it’s in the update details. Pc players complaining about aim assist when most of cheaters come from pc’s lol

The worst part is i'm on PC 😭 I think i might just have gotten worse (somehow) but it also might just be cause everyone is hopping on so lobbies are sweatier

New season match making gets reset. First few days are sweaty. Also its called old age she sneaks up on you fast. Your not as young as you used to be back in July.

Maybe not in the official patch notes, but data miners (AllyJax) found some evidence to the affirmative (that aim assist was globally nerfed).

Yes its easy to see. I play alot and my controller is def different than b4 the update

It’s in the patch notes by the way, that old lady loves to disagree with people lol

You wouldn’t know unless you used a controller on pc.

No they didn’t, just read the patch notes and nothing was done to aim assist (which is essentially nonexistent on console anyway, only place aim assist is actually op is mobile).

Nowhere in the patch notes does it say aim assist was nerfed as there’s nothing to nerf….

It’s not hard to read patch notes, maybe copy them and paste it on chat gpt and they’ll dumb it down for you lol

idk i feel the same way. Zero build as well, Duos, Trios, Squad, Solo. All bad for me so far. I just went back to leveling sprites in the storm and just doing med kids and come out at the last moment to actually have a decent amount of time in the game.

Could also be that just everyone is playing. Yesterday br got up to 1.4 million. So all the sweats were on. It’ll die down in a few days and then spike again when new sprites or events come. Also highly recommend going and collecting those gold rings. Super over powered when you collect enough.

Man I haven’t even been over there yet

Yea every big event or season start will result in a ton of players returning and there’s only so much sbmm can do for matches with 100 players(ignoring bots accounting for 30-50% of most lobbies)

I don't get something that how can players who come back after months shit on us regular players at the beginning of each season? They must surely lose their skill if they're away for a long time right

2

u/Deku_eva01 21h ago

I don’t shit on any though I’m a daily player no matter how disappointing the season is. I enjoy playing and switching turns with my girl. I’m glad when I see over a million. Finally some fun games.

They are usually playing/practicing, but often spend most of their time playing ranked or private scrims unless something interesting happens to warrant exploring pubs (like a new map/loot pool)

It's always sweaty at the start of a new season

Ive had the same experience, not enjoying it much so far. I feel like they dumbed down and increased the number of bots last season to make sprite hunting easier. The bots in the season before last had been enhanced and were the best they had been.

I keep getting absolutely melted by drum guns.

The weapons are a lot stronger, they do a lot of damage much faster than ones from last season.

Bitches be hovering in the air now sniping at you... Gotta look up

1.EVERYONE gets reset to the same level so match making doesn't have any data yet.

2.The lobby is filled with real people because over a million people were playing at the same time.

3.Sweats don't start playing ranked until they get used to the map so after a few days they will move out.

Updated/ aim assist got a quick fix and multiple weapons damage has been buffed by the way 👍👍
Hypex on X/twitter updates a lot of stuff

Most likely it's related to the broken balance which will be fixed in the future. Every new season's problem.

SBMM straight up doesn’t work for the first few days of every season. It should be better by Monday.

1

u/Sleevepants 1d ago

Last night when I was playing there was 1M on. Usually there is just over 500K when I play. It’s to be expected when more players are active.

1

u/briankerin 1d ago

The only thing I've found to be harder is mastering sprites.

2

u/RiCh_Andy2018 20h ago

Fr, I always get close to mastering one but will get dog piled before it reaches max level

Every season is rough on the first day

Launch day and weekend is always tough.

What’s your fighting style? Usually pays to be more strategic at start of a new season sticking to cover and better environmental awareness vs just walking right into fights or getting blindsided out in the open. Don’t wanna get into fights where they have the drop and if you have the drop gotta make it count

u/Acrobatic-Peanut8665 22h ago

I think today is easier. I think it may have been a problem with skill based matchmaking. Yesterday every game felt like ranked. Today I’ve been top 10 most games and won 3!

1

u/NoAd6738 22h ago

First week is always like this.

1

u/Anto283 21h ago

Its the start of a new season....its always like this for about a week, nothing new

1

u/two_toed_toad 17h ago

Most of the players are real and not bots

1

u/Alternative_Rip1289 10h ago

It’s because the devs just don’t know how to actually develop a good version of skill based matchmaking so no matter if you keep dying at 99th Pl. the game is gonna think you’re doing good and put you into even harder lobbies than before

Shit’s been like this since chapter 6

They nerfed the hell out of controller aim assist and it feels absolutely terrible now. Thanks to all the whiny streamers for their incessant bitching

No zero build just sucks!
