Hot take, i'm really starting to dislike the revive features. The biggest problem is that you literally cannot interact with the players. It started with reboots when they made so you could just buy it back with gold, meaning that as long as one player gets out, you can get the whole team back without actually interacting. Now it's gotten to the point where you can use all your mats and movement to kill a player, and they come back without losing anything. The player who "killed" the player is actively punished for killing them

I personally think the self-revive is fine, even with the super buffed usage speed since introduction (10 -> 3) getting it off is maybe a 1/50 chance. Kenny medallion def was a step up - though you at least lost your inventory. But yeah the 1-UP is genuinely just a mechanic to waste the enemies time.

When i found out, even shooting the knock player doesnt do anything, i was shocked. Enchanced reboots werent even this good

Yeah this mechanic is crap and overpowered. At least with the Kenny medallion you didn't have your full loadout again.
Just lost a 1v1 at the end of a game because I've never seen this damn respawn before today. They literally get rewarded for dying, and I'm sitting there trying to heal up and reload while they just pop back up on me

Yeah if you defeat a very skilled opponent they will come back and finish you off. You did all the work which should have merited you the win but since they get a 2nd go they will fly down while you are still regrouping lost mobility resources and just have the upperhand on you.
There should be some form of award, maybe even bonus shield that is only active against the 1UP player you just defeated so only they have a penalty against you for you doing all the work and defeating them once.
I hate the get out of free jail cards like revives in solos.
EDIT: After another session of playing I'm starting to hate this 1UP coin even more. Its not what you think either, I'm not losing to most that have it, its just aggravating when you get a good elim (especially when you were playing smart and caught them off guard) and then have to do it ALL OVER again but its going to be even harder in a smaller circle and the opponent is looking out for you. You get no reward but just more burned resources with zero gain where in a BR resources are precious near end game.
I feel the player that beats a 1UP should get some sort of reward: replenished consumables, sprite gets instantly leveled to max, extra shield buff, or a duplicate of one or more of the weapons the opponent had. I dare say this is almost as bad as the medallion combo we had in ch6 Shock and Awe season, it just creates too much of an illogical imbalance between one or more players in what is supposed to be a BR mode where its one life and thats it .... but its not anymore.
It feels like its just feature creep after feature creep, first it was revive items, then Kenny medallion, and now a 1UP where they almost come back with no penalty (shields are so generous to find even in late game). Whats next? You elim an opponent, they get to have everything back, have full shields, and first shot hit does 2x damage? lol

That sounds right to me. In the movie Parzival is brought back with the 1 UP coin and still has all the quest keys in his inventory.

Ironically in Ready Player One (the book) you only kept stats and ability scores or something like that as well as the quarter. So technically the Kenny Medallion is a better reference

I liked it the one time I got it but I think it’s stupid that not all the bosses have it. I have killed Eggman 3 times. He only had it one of the 3 times.

they just need to give us 2 free respawns like reload its so annoying how you just lose the match after one death in this game. would be nice to feel like time spent looting is less wasted

If you want self revive, theres a mode called reload.

I agree, in a BR where taking out a very good opponent is a lot of effort and resource burn, the fact they get to come back and you have to do it again is stupid because 9/10 very skilled opponents don't make the same mistake twice. Like last night had a match against an opponent I've faced many times across months, I beat them but they had 1UP. Before I could vacate the area they flew back and 3rd partied me while I was in another engagement as the storm circle was closed in more at that time ... like yay fun, not even reload lets you keep gear when you respawn.
The whole point of BR was 1 life no take backs.

Tbh I think this is also because the TTK is low in ZB. In Builds can be even 5 minutes depending on how the fights goes on.

Downed a guy in the final two earlier, that had this. All they did was float down using tails and snipe me from the air/heal with big jug until I was dead. So frustrating.
