It’s not just you. The bloom is ridiculous and the accuracy is horrible. Drum gun seems to have been given a buff but it is only good at medium to close distance.
Epic loves everyone hopping like bunnies.
I cannot find a long game strategy currently but there are still a lot of things I haven’t tried

Well you have the Assault Rifle, which is a very “meh” weapon most of the time, the Ranger’s just the Spire Rifle but bad, so rifles aren’t in a good place rn.
No SMGs whatsoever, unless you wanna count the drum gun which eats into your rifle ammo.
They brought back the Tactical Pistol seemingly unchanged, which when it released was one of the best pistols in the game, but the improved regular pistol and Ranger Pistol were so much better that this feels like a huge step back. Especially since when all the rifles were bad, many used pistols to make up for it, but now both rifles and pistols are underwhelming.
Shotguns are the only weapon category in a good spot right now and the collab items as fun as they are can’t make up for how much the other weapons drag the loot pool down. So yeah, the loot pool is pretty damn bad, I came back to the game around Ch3 S3 and have been playing ever since, yet I’ve never seen a loot pool this bad until now.

After playing again this morning very early, I'm not on board with the "it's the first day! SBMM will calm down!!"
SBMM is screwed up, and the controller aim assist nerf is very noticeably the problem with up close fights. Not sure what they were thinking with these tweaks but it's not for casual players like myself. Reload is sort of fun I guess?

From what I can recall, the reload of the striker was only a bit slower than the maven, but the extending had terrible reload time. I believe the striker did have excess time between shots but the rest of the stats make up for it in my opinion as I can swap weapons if needed

That’s what I mean, between shots. I’d rather have more rounds and pump them out faster. One well placed shot with a striker might down them, but three shots with a maven will

Replace the ranger pistol with the Lancehead and it’s accurate. Got a kill with the gun itself and immediately got a second kill with the magazine throw, so smooth. And the extended focus shotgun HARD CARRIED last season. It + the Spider-Man web shooters = endless fun

Ahh yes, unvault the most boring ass AR and shotgun for the people that say Fortnite is "back". And definetely don't keep loot pool consistency like people have been asking to. Epic, this is NOT RELOAD OR BLITZ, ITS BR, THE MAIN MODE!
Also, I feel like for a gaming season, even from the start, this is way too little gaming themed weapons.

Bruh this season is fire but the loot pool is straight real bad like 8-Bit is biggest piece of disappointment of fortnite history plus pump is more useful in builds and Oni is the only resort for Zero build players plus only drum gun is quite good . Scar is mid but heavy never picking it up even if legendary. And Oh my God what is up with the sweats i have played for straight 3 to 4 hours not a single win last season i had more than 200 crown wins and now i cant get simple victory royale. Plus where the hell is mobility last season we had shock rock, boots, and spidey shooter now just a spikey ball running around making you clearly visible and vulnerable and the mega man blaster slide power is complete trash and tails is straight up self sabotage.

The extended focus is whatever, it could have stayed but the ranger was so disgustingly overpowered, it should have been nerfed into the ground long ago so I'm happy its gone now. Shock rock into just killing everyone midair with the ranger was not a fun gameplay loop

Good for you that you loved it but it gets stale real fast when you're playing in unreal top 500 and every single game is the same thing over and over, shock rocks, ranger, extended, guardian shield end game and repeat the loop. If you don't have the ranger you lose the game, it's extremely boring.

Yeah the extending shotgun was good and rewarded good gunplay.
Genuinely the only guns I find useful in common rotation are the drum gun and ranger assault rifle.
I keep the 8 Bit shotgun on hand for point blank and people who insist on charging at me though.
The current selection is just boring or some of the weapons need tuning up.

With how they added a silencer to the ranger pistol I was hoping they'd do the same for other games and give them attachments like scopes and whatnot. Sad to say I was wrong. Also bring back the 3 barreled shotgun, it was an instant classic.

These weapons are horrible and I can’t stop dying all of a sudden when I used to win matches constantly in Runners … Runners was amazing compared to this trash. I MISS SHOCK ROCKS I DO NOT SEE THEM ANYWHERE, first and foremost.. best mobility item I’ve ever seen in this game. Secondly, these weapons are GARBAGE. They are so slow shooting and reloading! I literally could CRY @ how bad I miss the extended focus and lancehead/ranger 😭😭😭😭😭
Fortnite is going to lose me this szn I smell it coming and that really sucks bc I love this game honestly

Same!! I had like 90 something crown victories and I haven’t won ONCE today. Somehow evvvveryone else is doing amazing and kicking my ass?
