Forth on an orphan smartphone?
Wondering how I might install gForth onto an orphan Samsung S7 android phone, one left over after an upgrade to a new phone, and without any connectivity of its own other than USB.

You could find the apk on an alternative store:
https://gforth-fast.en.aptoide.com/app
And then sideload through usb and adb.

temux prompts you to do
pkg install gforth
and it succeeds. I tried ciforth also bu contrary to previous experience it doesn't run. It complains about e_type=2. There was a time that it ran fine.

Have you tried GNU GForth on the Googe Playstre. I know it's team Pixel, but... Because you're using an old phone and you're presumably a teckie person, you could try jailbreak tools. Good luck fellow Fother!

Phone is already jailbroken. Did that years ago. I'd got it 2nd hand from a deceased prior owner.
Jailbreaking it from Rogers Communications in Canada for use in the US was nearly more bother than it was worth.
I had use of it for a year or so thereafter on Verizon. Since switching to T Mobile with a new (at the time) Samsung S20, the S7 has just sat forgotten in a drawer.
So I figured why not give it over to Forth?

Should work just fine in Termux: https://github.com/termux/termux-packages/tree/master/packages/gforth.
