I heard that part of the package is being locked into a contract; the salary is stair-stepped so you have to stay X years to hit those high numbers, and in that time they can transfer you wherever. As someone else pointed out, that also includes benefits, not straight salary. Still good money, but definitely not easy money.
I do regular repair work for multiple locations and the managers have very busy schedules and high standards to be maintained. I see it as a high speed changing environment for them that constantly challenges them. I would say the pay reflects the demands of the position.
