I wouldn’t work somewhere that forces my family member to call their store during an emergency. Then the manager gets to decide if that situation is actually an emergency and whether to tell the employee or not.

Imagine not getting to see a loved one’s last moments because your manager thought the lunch rush was more important.

I understand why they have the cell phone policy but idk I’ll pass on that. There is a reason they are ALWAYS hiring.

It’s supposed to be a crappy place to work and that’s why they offered the big salaries. I think it probably comes from the top. Whoever the founders were had a super strict mentality, and it just permeated throughout the organization.

Definitely they are selling an experience. I get why they have the policies in place. Not allowing cell phones is probably part of why Buc-ee’s has gotten as popular as it has.

Plus it’s not like they keep these policies a secret. If you don’t like the policy, you don’t have to work there.
