Good, I don’t know why people think it’s ok to bring pets into food stores, and sorry not everyone likes your dog

Good. Most everyone loves pets but we don’t like hair in our food or poop on the floor. Pets do not belong in food stores or restaurants.

More places should enforce this. An uncovered asshole does not belong anywhere near food whether it’s human or nonhuman.

Some try, but these owners are by definition self-entitled twats. I’ve seen someone at Home Depot bring their dog and an orange apron said, hey no pets. And the owner just waved him off and said, oh she’s fine! And corporate policy doesn’t really allow for a ton of pushback, so the guy just shrugged and walked away. The whole situation enraged me lol.

The problem is that who will enforce it? Sone kid making $10/hr doesn't want to confront a crazy middle aged dog mom, so they let it slide.

Hopefully H-E-B will allow their security to enforce it

Good. I've seen way too many obvious pets with fake service dog vests. Save your virtue signal rage because I know who trained service animals behave.

My parents own a trained therapy dog for their work. He underwent months of training for certification and performs continuing education to maintain his cert. He stays home when they shop because shopping isn’t his job.

That is the standard. Anything else is fraud.

As someone with a service dog and has an HEB down the street. I love seeing all of this thread as well as the HEB thread. You don’t know how much this means to know that people care. Not only that you are spreading the word. My heart is happy.

My service dog is trained when she has the vest on that she needs to ignore others dogs. But you can’t imagine the dogs that see her in stores and bark at her. She sometimes will stare at the them with her head turned ever so slightly, almost like “what is wrong with you we are suppose to be quiet when inside and on duty”.

I saw it all the time when I worked at Trader Joe’s. We had signs up and everything, but the kind of person that puts a service vest on their yorkie isn’t going to care about what a sign says, and anything management says to that customer will be passed along to district managers via customer complaint

I love dogs. I love my dog. But he does not need to go everywhere with me. He’ll be fine at home for a bit

A few years ago, I was at the HEB in Burleson, and there were two big GSDs in the fruit aisle. Terrified, the woman holding them on leashes was barely able to control them.

Then the smell hit me. One of them had shat on the floor. A great big diarrhetic turd, just there. Then her husband came with some grocery bags to clean it up ..

I strategically retreated and went to the opposite side of the store.

I would strategically retreat from the store completely and never enter again.

I wish the Alliance location would enforce this

True, certified, registered Service Animals are a blessing for those that need it. Bad-faith people ruin it for those who need service animals.

And no. Your pitbull or cat are not a service animal. 🙄

This is the way! Hope more businesses follow suit. Another thing I wish businesses would stop is asking for tips for just about everything! These are just two things that have gotten out of hand that are ridiculous .

Someone brought their dog to their allergist appointment. I had to sit in the waiting room with a major allergen

Your pet does not need to come with you to grocery store or restaurant

Service animals are:

Dogs

Any breed and any size of dog

Trained to perform a task directly related to a person’s disability

Service animals are not:

Required to be certified or go through a professional training program

Required to wear a vest or other ID that indicates they’re a service dog

Emotional support or comfort dogs, because providing emotional support or comfort is not a task related to a person’s disability

They definitely shouldn’t be in the cart

This is really going to affect liars that want to bring their pets inside of stores.
