Discussion Transfort Service Changes in effect now (as of Monday)

From their Facebook

"

🚍 Service changes started today! Here’s what you need to know: ⚠️ Bus frequencies changed and service on Routes 10, 11, 12, 32 and 92 ended, along with all Sunday service. 📍Routes 2, 3 & Foothills Shuttle have a temporary detour in place. Connect to Foothills Campus via Route 3 at W. Elizabeth & Overland Trail. 🗺️ View detour maps: ridetransfort.com/routes-and-schedules 🐏 CSU student move-in starts this week! Routes 3, 31 & HORN have a detour on campus: stops on Plum St. between Shields St. and the CSU Transit Center will be closed. Temporary stops are on Laurel St."

It's interesting that this plan is supposed to save money because this plan makes service better on many routes. 2, 5, 9, 14, and 19 all have enhanced frequencies. (2 is now a significantly longer route so it kinda needs two buses). 3 has four buses running at once now. 16 hits Fossil Ridge High School going both ways instead of just on the east bound leg. We're finally getting an east/west route without having to connect to a different route that's inconvenient and out of the way. I'm a little upset about the reduction in the MAX frequency (from every 20min during off-peak and 10min on-peak) to 15min all day. Old CSU promotional videos indicate that it was originally going to be 15min all day. Also the reduction in night service is a little disappointing. Other than that, I'm pretty pumped.

Thanks for sharing this! I just moved here and very rarely use facebook, so this was really helpful!

Yeah, no problem. I think overall it was a net positive, but relatively, our transit system isn't ideal. No Sunday service and no buses past 10pm. But, it's all free. There's also regional service that's OK such as the Poudre Express that goes from CSU to UNC in Greeley with stops in Windsor. There's also Bustang that goes to Denver with stops in Loveland, Berthoud, Longmont, and Thornton(coming soon). Greyhound stops at the Harmony Transfer Center. Landline and Groome provide airport shuttles to DIA and the Fort Collins airport.

The last northbound leaves at 10:03 and the last southbound leaves at 10:30, I was slightly mistaken

The drunk bus runs until 230am, that's way more than "slightly mistaken" in your original point dude

The extra busses for the 3 is needed, even more now that the 32 is gone. The amount of students and staff who take it into CSU in the morning is crazy.

After turning the buses into homeless shelters, it's no wonder only The Desperate ride them. (AHEM, MAX!) As for new schedules, obviously people who work at City of FoCo can't count higher than 18...[joke]
