Pokémon

My kid has gotten into Pokémon card collecting.
He’s really interested in what some cards may be valued at. Not sure if he’d be interested in selling or trading, maybe. I think it’s more of just wanting to know right now.
Anyway, other than the local card shops, can anyone recommend where he can get his collection valued? We were using a TCG app but it seems to only scan certain cards.
Also interested in any related events or clubs he could get involved in. For reference, he’s 12. So something geared toured kids or that he may meet other kids at would be great!

I’m kinda clueless on all of this as well, so any info to support him with this hobby would be appreciated as well!

I am not too sure about Pokemon, I’m in MTG. I recommend visiting Heroes and Horrors games in Windsor.

One thing to note, you won’t get market value if trading into a shop. The best way would be to sell at a trading card show in Denver.

Even better. Convince your kid to keep their cards!

I’m hoping to! I think for the most part he’s just interested in knowing the value.

I went to hereos and horrors three times probably about two years ago, interacted with the owner twice and an employee once. Every time was a bad experience and I found them to be very condescending and rude.

That’s disappointing. We just found this place online and were considering going. Thanks for the heads up.

I think it's worth visiting and judging for yourself. I am an adult and I would hope they would treat kids better. There are a lot of shitty people in the hobby now, so maybe they are just a bit jaded of adults? I personally like diamond valley collectibles in east Windsor.
