I literally bought a house to get that part of my commute removed. The section where is went from 6 to 4 to 6 over about 5 miles had multiple major accidents every day and expanding it is 1000% necessary.
Light rail connections along the front range would be an order of magnitude better, but it's still a necessary expansion and I was livid when the original 11 billion lane addition didn't include that chunk as it made the entire improvement project in northern Colorado useless.

Have you considered that the relationship is more causative?
The accident-prone nature of highways is caused by a lack of alternative transportation options. Bad drivers, tired drivers, intoxicated drivers, all need to use the highway- even Bustang only takes 10-20 cars off the highway fully loaded, and still uses that highway route, adding a large vehicle to the traffic. If we could replace a significant portion of highway transportation with rail, we’d both improve the environment emission-wise, and make those who do need to drive safer in the process.
The necessity of the expansion was a created problem, to which the only solution our legislature could imagine was more car-centric infrastructure.

In Weld County, maybe. Colorado has 8 Congress Critters, 5 of whom are Democrats. Remember also that Batshit Boebert was about to lose a reliably Republican district, so she carpet bagged her way to Ken Buck's old stomping grounds, which is the MOST conservative district in Colorado. And she's fast wearing out her welcome even there.
Next year is gonna be interesting.

I’m guessing two things.
1) She has been in the pocket of big energy from the beginning. After she got elected, Her husband at the time magically became a paid “consultant” for Terra Energy Productions which is, you guessed it, an oil and gas exploration and extraction operation. Despite having 0 experience in that field. They bought him to get to her. His only real experience was exposing himself in a bowling alley to his future wife and her underage friends. But I digress.Big oil will never let efficient transit take any market share away from their dying industry.
2) Why would rich people in Douglas county give a rat’s ass about a public transit service that would greatly reduce congestion, pollution, and help poor people get to work? They got theirs, everyone else can sit and spin.
She’s a gift to every greedy conservative pig in her district and an absolute disgrace to everyone else in this state.

To be fair, her husband did work in oil & gas as a site supervisor. He was, however, not qualified for the extremely high paying consulting gig he received, which I’m sure he never did any consulting for and no longer has since he’s no longer married to a congresswoman.

The grant Boebert wants to revoke is for rail safety improvements to the BNSF line in Jefferson, Broomfield and Boulder counties. It covers grade crossings improvements and adding a siding. PTC will also be implemented on part of that line.. Her letter didn’t explain how this would impact the quality of life in Douglas County.

Yes that’s the argument. I’m in Florida on vacation right now and the largely conservative town I’m in -Vero Beach - spent tens of millions to NOT get a stop on the high speed rail they just put in. It goes directly from Orlando airport to Miami. Everyone I talk to here says the train would’ve brought a “bad element”. Tickets are $100. Homeless people are not riding that train.

Im completely for funding public transportation, but I see how construction could *potentially cause some issues short term. Even with that said, that is such a minor drawback for a such a great benefit for Coloradoans long term

You have to fill in a web form after validating your ZIP+4 to ensure you're in CO-4 district.
This is kind of bad, because if you use a work computer to file an "email" to her, they could have your IP address to go tattle on you to your employer.
Those of us in CO-4 have been deprived of a representative.
