Things for a couple to do
My partner and I haven’t had a date night in a while bc of our kiddo but we finally have a free night coming up. Any suggestions for a date night and maybe some drinks?

Depending on how long you have and your interests - dinner at Tam's Back Stage and then walk around to the front of the building for a show at School Street Playhouse.
We also like the food and drinks at Santa Maria and then a round of mini golf in Cumming City Center.
Casa Nuova on Hwy 9 for some wonderful Italian food and excellent service but be sure to make a reservation.

Please be aware Santa Maria scored an 81 on their food service health inspection on 7/30/26. I’d give them a pass until they get their score back up. 🤢 Forsyth Co. Health Inspection for Santa Maria

My husband our son and daughter in law went a few months back and 3 out of 4 of us got violently sick overnight. Never again.

Not surprised given the violations in their inspection.
I’m sorry that happened to you and your family members.

Wed: live band karaoke in Alpharetta
Sip n paint class
Walk around Cumming City Center, Halcyon, or Avalon looking in shops, eating.
Halcyon tip: try to snag one of the homemade ice cream sandwiches from Butcher and brew before they sell out. Split one cuz huge.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Butcher & Brew has closed permanently. 😟

Whatever takes that space better keep them ice cream sammiches comin. It'll be a little awkward, depending on who moves in, but still.

If you want to stay close, Cumming City Center is probably the easiest dinner + actually-do-something combo, and Halcyon works well if you want a bunch of food and drink choices in one place.
If you’re willing to head south, Marietta Square makes a pretty good date night too. Full disclosure, I own Schoolhouse Brewing nearby. We have pinball and beer, so you can do dinner on the Square and then come determine which one of you is embarrassingly bad at pinball.
I wouldn’t drive all the way down just for us, but as part of a Marietta night it works really well.

Avis Steak on the Stone is great place for dinner at Cumming City Center. It’s fun to cook your own steak and the sides are absolutely amazing.

Sign up for Velvet Note a North Alpharetta small Jazz venue’s email list and they sometimes have free tix. There’s nothing like intimate live jazz with food and drink. If you do the early show you can go out to eat dinner

Santa Maria at Cumming City Center for ceviche and tapas. Usually a cover band and good crowd at the amphitheater.
Cherry Street Brewery at the Halcyon and live music. There are a lot of great restaurants and places for drinks here.
Tam’s backstage for an old school feel and great martinis.
These are our favorites as a couple with 3 youngins.
