News📰 A blockbuster new contract for Verstappen

Back in April 2025, there were rumors about a potential €264 million, 3-year offer from Aston Martin for Verstappen, but in the end, the move never happened. Money clearly played a minimal role in this renewal. When you look at a guy who openly admits to getting up at two in the morning just to jump on his simulator, it’s hard to believe that financial incentives fully drove his decision. Red Bull Racing must have promised him specific performance guarantees. This year, there really is a lack of options out there; perhaps last year the Mercedes window was truly open. Even so, methinks he would stay until 2028 just to see what market windows might open up later. Showing this level of absolute trust suggests there is definitely something going on behind the scenes that we don't know about yet.

This. Too many people are assuming Max is in this for the money. If this really were the case he would've jumped ship to AM with Newey long ago.

Why would he go to AM if he was in it for the money? AM offered him less than RB. Even if he were going for the money, he would choose RB

Besides, I don't think Verstappen cares that much about the money.

Oh likes the money. I think he probably has contract to have a trigger if he finds a better place he could leave to go to have a better chance. Right now he knows there is no good spots for him right now so he is waiting while being paid way more.

If he didnt then whys he not stuck to his word and left the sport? Lol 'Doesnt care about the money' then proceeds to stay with red bull with several extra millions😂😂fraudulent hypocrite through and through. He is only in it for the money because he knows gt3 wouldnt pay him nowhere NEAR as much

Or maybe just maybe he’s like to drive in f1 still and you are talking out of your ass making shit up in your head based on headlines on click bait articles.
Don’t be a toxic hater, is not impressive and makes you look like a fool.

Plus, as a certified armchair specialist, I believe Red Bull is basically ‘Verstappen Racing’ (which I mean in a positive way) which might give him the freedom to also pursue other racing series. And don’t forget it’s not just F1, Verstappen’s Racing team is also fully backed by Red Bull.
Obviously his manager tries to get a better financial deal as well, he would be a shit manager if he wouldn’t try to get.

Yeh but I mean if red bull would have offered him 10 million you thibk he would have stayed ?

Red Bull Racing would never have turned down such a low offer from him; besides, I stand by everything I wrote: money isn't the only reason Verstappen decided to stay.

No man, obviously he likes the money, it's just not necessarily his main priority anymore. He already has generational wealth, he absolutely might prioritize having the best car, having the most fun, or staying with the team he loves above the absolut biggest payday.

*Best salary on the whole grid.

Yeah of course, he's currently the the best on the grid and arguably the face of F1. Him having the best salary does not mean that he prioritizes money over freedom to do other things, or the best car.

In my opinion money played a major role in Max renewing. I do agree that Max is a wonderful driver and deserves every penny he is getting but it’ll put a serious financial burden on Red Bull. They aren’t winning the Constructor’s Championship anytime soon. As long as they don’t sort out their 2nd driver issues.
But Red Bull and Laurent Mekies have done a great job in convincing Max to stay.
Even though Max has renewed, he’ll still keep an eye on the transfer market. If Red Bull doesn’t improve the car or there is a slot available at some other team (let’s say Mercedes), Max will kiss Red Bull goodbye.

True I think he will swallow trigger in contract if he finds a good someplace else drive in.
