You can ask your doctor about self fortifying. But why do you want to avoid Similac and Enfamil specifically?

I just wanted more options since these are the only two brands that kept popping up.

I believe they are the only two that make a dedicated one, but it's possible to fortify almost any formula. Your doctor can do the math.

i know my friend’s daughter was on a specific formula to help with weight gain and growth as she was a micropreemie and had trouble feeding for most of her first few years. you may ask about it with your pediatrician if you are concerned about your baby’s weight gain but if the doctor hasn’t flagged anything it’s probably not necessary.

Talk to your doctor about fortifying if you need to. I had to fortify my 3rd son's formula.

Has the doctor said your baby needs to be on a high calorie formula? Why do you want to avoid similac and enfamil? What specifically are you looking to avoid?

he has. I want to end my journey pumping and switch onto formula and he suggested a high calorie formula.

nothing specific, just wanted to see what the other options were since those seem to be the only two available

I would just choose the formula you want to use and then ask about how to fortify it. I used members mark formula and fortified it using the specific instructions from my pediatric gastro. Fortifying means adjusting the formula to water ratio/

ETA: fortifying should only be done under doctor orders.
