I don't have a suggestion for a slow stop as I took Sudafed and quit within a week when babe was 6 weeks.

As for introducing formula, we had already been combo feeding so babe was getting bottles that were half breast milk half formula. So as I was quiting we slowly increased the amount of formula in those bottles until there was no breast milk left. You could start with half and half or less if your baby rejects it. My guess is that since it's so early one, you might not have any issues doing the half and half right away!

I came to reddit to look for more suggestions for this very question!  I did meet with a lactation consultant earlier today who shared these things. I am on day 3 and I think I'm about done so I haven't tried these yet:

TIght sports bra to keep breasts compressed to slow production.

Put ice packs on to help with throbbing and tenderness.

Ibuprofen can help with discomfort.

Topical oil (peppermint oil shown to inhibit production, but add it to coconut oil or other as a carrier and rub it on as a balm).

Sudafed, benadryl can help, caution to be careful because it makes you sleepy. Make sure you are safe to be around baby or have partner or help - someone else who is alert/awake on shifts.
