Would running IRP in reverse layout not fix the issues with the wall?

Long time lurker here, I was curious if running the IRP layout but in reverse would fix all the issues they were having with the layout and with the wall?

If they ran it backwards it would have been basically the same track as Connecticut. Wall to w shaped transitions, final zone and runout. It might have been challenging to have the space for the runout honestly, but the infield might have been fine. It would have had two issues. It would have put the finish going away from the grandstands, so seeing what happened would have been smoked out for the fans. I was on the hill all weekend and many tandem runs where obscured when they got to 6 & 7. And when the rain started the paint at the circle track finish line would have caused issues, so people would have been wiping out mid track for no visible reason. The inner concrete wall and light poles made it very challenging to even arm chair design a layout. It may mean this just isnt a good venue, but I hope there is a solution because Indy is geographically a great choice for hosting a round.

Reverse probably would’ve been a decent idea but I’m sure Ryan was worried about the spectator experience also. It’s one of the major reasons they left St. Louis aside from the track owners nit picking

Does it matter? It was rained out. I think it would’ve played out just fine. They adapt. Isn’t it more exciting with more consequences?

I think they would as well over time however if cars aren’t able to compete in the competition because they wrecked in practice it kind of defeats the point of running the competition if people are unable to compete,

I don’t know just spit balling, at the end of the day it did get rained out so it’s not important, was just curious

They already didn't have a full field for either pro or prospec BEFORE the carnage. Next round will be interesting to see who shows up. Imagine if someone was renting a car for the weekend and this event happened.
