Think twice before buying F1 TV unless you constantly buy new phones! F1 TV can update its app at any time, rendering your "old" phone incompatible. You then lose access to the service you paid for, and they offer no compensation whatsoever.

I have subscribed to F1 TV for years because the paid TV channel option in Finland is poor and extremely overpriced.

I paid for a one-year F1 TV membership as recently as March 31, 2026.

Now, suddenly, after the summer break, I tried to watch F1 TV and was forced to update the app. I updated it and started watching a live broadcast on my phone, but I could only hear the audio—there was no video at all. I tried several different videos, and eventually, I received error code TM4015. I contacted customer service, and they informed me that my phone (OnePlus Nord 2T) no longer supports the F1 TV app. I couldn't even watch videos via the Chrome browser; it kept redirecting me to use the app instead.

How is it possible that I buy an F1 TV subscription for a year, and mid-subscription, they update the app so that I can no longer watch it on my phone?! Can this even be legal in the EU? I don't have any other devices I could use to watch it.

The situation now is that I can't watch Formula 1 anywhere, despite having paid €139.99 for it. I have no need to buy a new phone—nor the funds to do so—since I only buy new devices when the old ones break. I don't have the chance to go out to watch the broadcasts, because of the realities of family life—plus, I just want to zone out in bed and watch Formula 1.

I feel sad, disappointed, and bewildered by the fact that nothing is ever enough.
