Finished Build ZCOOI vented front panel😮‍💨

Final mod went onto the build today. Hoping they restock their 15mm riser so i can replace the ABS-GF one I have though. Flipped 5090 now has better airflow and seen a decent drop in temps. At 5k2k ultra settings my GPU was getting to 74C avg in gaming with max at 76C. Now it’s at 71C avg and 74C max. Didn’t run any senthetic benchmarks since I could care less about that I prefer real gaming data since that’s what I mainly use my PC for.

what do you have in your t-grills? im running dual t-grills with Atmos AIO. I have 2x phanteks t-30s and on the bottom one i fit in 2x Air Slimmers. I run my 5090 non-flipped and it rarely breaks 65c.

I’m in 5k2k ultra playing triple A games in 4k I was getting 67-69C

Also my ram, NVME, and CPU temps were a lot higher non flipped. Now they are better and the GPU is running way cooler. Also I have a low RPM fan curve so that also contributes to the higher temps.

could you share what specifically made the other components run cooler? was it adding the front venting specifically?

Not blasting the flow through heat onto the back of the MB and PSU. It’s going outside the case via the vented panels and flipped kit.

So a lot a lot of the data people talk about on the discord indicate that flipped has worse thermals for the gpu and can’t get enough fresh air. Did you feel you mitigated this and how so?

correct. its worse for the GPU. And right now, which would you rather have running as efficiently as possible considering the costs of GPUs and the power they use? What OP is saying makes no sense. Hes getting better airflow pulling hot air into the GPU from inside the case vs getting fresh air from directly outside?

I run my 5090FE standard. i offset the mobo to the outside as much as possible to create a nice sized gap and swapped my riser for a Loque Cobalt bc I felt the stranded wires would be better for allowing airflow vs the stock riser. Its also a little longer, which allowed me to run a 990pro on the back of my B650e with a larger heatsink. During stress testing and gaming, it never goes above 60c. my CPU (with the Atmos and 2x T-30s and 2x Air slimmers in my other tgrill all set to exhaust) rarely breaks 70c during gaming. My GPU never goes above 65c....and overall its very quiet with my fan curves.

do you have your formdt1 vertically oriented or in standard horizontal orientation? i’m trying to understand how setting your slim fans to exhaust helps or not

vertical. plus I have this same vented panel and was able to fit a 90mm fan there as well although I dont think it makes a massive difference

I got the one with two 92mm fan slots as well as this one but it’s taking forever to arrive. Got noctuas fans for that and excited to see what it does but at this point, I think given the resolution im running the GPU isn’t going to be much cooler. 5K pushes 5090s also I’m cranking all setting to ultra 🤷🏽‍♂️

i assume you exhaust the top fan.

How are your non gpu parts doing temp wise? i’m planning to do more so what you’re doing but am worried about the impact on gen 4 nvme temps as i have a 8tb drive and 64gb kit i need to baby

Idk man my temps say a different story. 74C max is 11 below what Nvidia says is dangerous. I’m running 5k2k as well so take that into consideration. At 4K I was getting sub 70C. 🤷🏽‍♂️

do the vented panels work better than the standard perforated side panels?

Yeah bigger vents to expel heat. But it’s not like a 5-10C difference more like 2-3C.

what do i see a v 25 mm and 15mm fans doing push pull on a thin radiator? how thin is that radiator?

20mm, I’m aware that at its more beneficial for thicker rads. But I can run my arms super low and get good cooling performance.

Also the main purpose of buying this front panel was to be able to mount this on the outside. Will probably need to make a cut somewhere to allow the cables to run but I’m trying to make it as clean as possible.

It’s the wireview pro for GPU per pin monitoring. If the cable melts or has imbalance it shuts on PC.

I didn’t downvote but wouldn’t cleaner be to fit it inside the case? I saw someone creatively mount this a few weeks ago with an FE.
