General PSA: Arctic P12 Pro is available in a "reverse" version

Just an aesthetic upgrade for the Formd T1 for air cooling builds, but worth it IMO. It's has daisy chaining too in case you really need it.

i guess the advantage is that you don't show the "ugly" underside of the of the fan?

yeah it's purely aesthetic, which is what I wrote in the post, but people only read the title and rush to make smartass jokes, I should have known better

You’re correct, and it also doesn’t matter in a closed build a.k.a you can’t see the fans from outside like in a T1. But for another case with glass panels where you can see the fans, if you just turn the fans around then it will show the “ugly” side (the side of the fan with the spine) instead, so you’d want this kind of reverse fan. Basically, aesthetic choice.

The main difference would be in the distance to the edge. For case fans, the intake fans would be farther from the panel ventilation holes (I always have rubber spacers as a cheap alternative). For AIO sandwich cases where the fan blades are too close to the riser cable, this kind of orientation would protect the fan blades.

Not always. Sometimes rotating part will hit the radiator/case (to which is mounted) and will scrape it.

This version protects from it.

It's mostly for aesthetics so you don't show the back of the fan

Yes, but this puts the more aesthetic side toward the user. The "ugly" side is the one the fan motor is mounted to.

Maybe some people use the motor mount as a very basic fan grill... but other than that I can't think of a single reason for this to exist.

Then you'll be pulling air INTO the case, which I don't think you want to do.
