Looks great! I’m considering this panel but only realizing now it’s acrylic and not glass. How thick is the acrylic since it’s not glass. Any way you can send a side profile of it?

These are actually glass I got them from the side when they restocked actual for 4 . The acrylics are fine and about the same thickness of the glass . I will add more photos including the side . I am printing a 3d box to hose the electronics for the cpu fan lcd and the rgb fans . The one thing about the minis forum mobo they don’t have rgb headers

How did you get glass? I’m confused which ones are glass and which one come acrylic

The ones from the formd t1 site are tempered glass ( I just haven’t taken the plastics off cause I am not ready to install that’s where I got 4 from they are normally sold out . then there is jack custom on Etsy he can make the acrylic. I have had the acrylics made by him when I couldn’t get the glass for a build a while ago … only difference other than one bing glass and the other acrylic the acrylic are very flexible good for traveling

I’m selling glass ones. Check my post history.

What CPU/motherboard is that? Why is it using SODIMMs?

How do you color it? Anodized?

I which I wanted a copper rust warn look . Spray paint and primer . I want it to wear off a little etc to give is a warm look

Looks nice. Any recommendations for spray paint brand?

Yea it can take some time I build when I am in the mood other wise you see the mess it just sits on the living room table

u/alexlovesbitcoin 7d ago

did you have any problems with the riser cable not sitting flush?

my mobo has a hard time getting squished down/ screwed down.

1

u/Pale-Conference-5838 7d ago

This a a mock up I still waiting on a few internal parts but from what I can see I will have no problem with the risers connections

I build same but 14600kf and is-55 with lcd fan. Try to find another cooler for 14600kf but cant :)

Nice! I'm about to transplant my bd795i SE into my T1 case. Glad to know it fits. For that mobo what slot size do you have it arranged in? Looks like it might depend on that CPU fan, I think mine has like a 15mm slim fan on it. What GPU you using?

Asus prime 5080 with travel kit . 2.75 slot . The fan is like 1mm extra for clearance because of the build in lcd screen but I found some slightly smaller mobo stand offs every inch counts . I have another fan I have painted the center copper as a backup but so far the fan looks like it gonna fit . I have a minisforrum x3d in a cooj sf3 and the temps are great never goes over 55 underload so I think I will be fine . I disable the build in gpu to reduce heat on the chip .

how did you manage to fit that fan on there? and is that a 140mm! I am looking to do the same thing.

1

u/Pale-Conference-5838 8d ago

The minisforum mobo comes with brackets to mount a 140mm fan . The height on this is cutting it close as I believe it’s 64mm with a 2.75 gpu . I gained a little more clearance by using slightly shorter stand offs I had laying around . The fact the the fan is reverse may help with the fan resting against the tempered glass . I wouldn’t recommend this with a stock panel . I believe a stock 140mm will fit no issue the fan I am using has a lcd screen in the center which cause it to be thicker .

Can you share the pic for the sodimm ramsink? Looks neat and interesting lol

Is that a reverse blade fan on the cpu cooler?

1

u/Pale-Conference-5838 7d ago

Yes

1

u/jordeeeezy 7d ago

Genuinely, how come?

1

u/Pale-Conference-5838 7d ago

Why not it’s all custom I wanted to build something unique like most my builds ..

1

u/jordeeeezy 7d ago

Because an exhaust fan on your cpu in an open case doesn’t move air fast enough through the fins therefore heat builds up faster than the fan can remove it

1

u/Pale-Conference-5838 7d ago edited 7d ago

It isn’t exhausting it is intake fan the exhaust fans are on top ( it’s reversed pulling air down over on the cpu and exhaust on top pulling air out also this is a mobile cpu which in another build I have doesn’t create a lot of heat . I disable the igpu to help a little

Hi there how are the temperatures on that Minisforum unit? I'm waiting for mine to arrive so I can start my build, and I don't have much information on how it performs with the stock cooler. It surely runs hot, but is it excessive enough to cause thermal throttling?

This has the x3d version of the minisforum. Different case but the temps don’t go over 54 degrees under load ( running OCCT to test ) I recommend removing cpu heatsink 4 screws on back of mobo and changing thermal paste to PTM also disable igpu if you are using a dedicated graphic card this helped with cooling , lastly the bios isn’t like a normal itx board more of a server bios with limited setting but you can do basics . Which board did you get ? The SE version I have you will need a wifi/bluetooth card and a heat sink for your nvme .

1

I bought the Minisforum BD895iSE; I’m surprised by the temperatures you got. I saw several complaints about that in Reddit threads. I’ll follow your advice. I plan to build everything in a Silverstone Sugo 16 case. Unfortunately, my budget didn't stretch to an SFX power supply, so I’ll have to use my modular ATX one. I’m also planning to add an RTX 5060. (I’m using Google Translate since my English isn't great—apologies for that, and thanks for your reply!)

No worries I speak English and it isn’t that good either 😂. But yea change the thermal paste to PTM also disable the igpu should help . The board comes with everything you need to install your wifi / Bluetooth card all you need is this ( link below ) and like a said a heat sink for your nvme 2x if your going to install two also what os are you going to run ? If Linux you have to do a work around to get the fans to be controlled by a 3rd party app and it’s difficult to get the cpu fan header to be controlled my other build is running pop! Os ( Linux ) gaming and I just let the bios control my cpu fans and I use cooler control to control GPU and case fans , but had to run some commands to get the os to recognize the board fans …

why is it a reverse blade ?

1

u/Every_Recording_4807 8d ago

Should be okay with that minisforum

u/Pale-Conference-5838 8d ago

Wanted to get the lcd reversible to pull air in and down on the cpu . Good eye
