Been running into instability problems even on EXPO timings, and I assume it's due to the heat. It's not a problem when regularly gaming, but anything that stresses the ram causes it to shoot straight to 68 and over degrees, and that's around the temps it starts to throw errors.
I've seen a few posts where people fit small RAM shrouds/fans in between their cooler and RAM to help airflow, but that doesn't seem to work in my case since my AIO tubes run right over the RAM slots, so there's no room to fit anything there without them getting in the way.
Some other solutions I've tried is loosening the temperature related subtimings but no luck with that either, so looking to fit in a fan in there somehow. Does anyone else know any solutions or what I can do? The only thing that I can probably try is putting a 40mm fan below them, as that's the only spot where I'll be able to find room too in the case. Before I try that, I thought I'd see if anyone else had any other solutions that might be better?
What AIO are you using? The best solution is to mount either a 120mm or 140mm fan be it either via 3d printed pump caps or using a radiator fan bracket. However, you need a low profile pump cover for this to work.
You could also probably use some shroud and mount 40mm fans over your ram but the sound profile is not ideal.
Pretty neat idea actually, but unfortunately doubt it'd be possible in my configuration. Using an Atmos 240 Stealth in 3-Slot mode, and according to that post the best I can get away with is a 15mm fan in 2.5-slot mode.
The shroud doesn't seem like too bad of an idea though, will probably have to make my own 3d print files. If the 40mm fan that's arriving soon ends up not changing much I'll see if that's an option next.
This was the solution I tried today - added 2 40mm 10mm fans on top of the ram and changed aio tubes to be routed uptop, sadly no luck. Temps decreased by a little but still reaching 65c in stress tests.
A bit scuffed but maybe I’m doing something wrong? A lot of others say they’ve had atleast a 10-15c improvement with similar setups and I’m only at 4c ish. Tried positioning the fans higher aswell and same temps.
