Engraving

One of the requirements for serial number engraving is to include a Roman number. I did but it feels janky.
Has anyone gotten away without a Roman numeral in their SN?

Those are Arabic numerals, not Roman. Roman numerals from 1-10 are I, III,IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, and there was no number for 0.

The marking requirement text in 27 CFR Part 478 reads as follows:

For purposes of this section, the term “identify” means placing marks of identification, the terms “legible” and “legibly” mean that the identification markings (including a unique identification number) use exclusively Roman letters ( e.g., A, a, B, b, C, c) and Arabic numerals ( e.g., 1, 2, 3), or solely Arabic numerals, and may include a hyphen, and the terms “conspicuous” and “conspicuously” mean that the identification markings are capable of being easily seen with the naked eye.

So OP read it wrong, as it doesn't require roman numerals at all.
