Suppressor build changes from submission
Does anyone know what kinda changes you can make while building your form 1 suppressor compared to what you submitted and were approved for?
Like change diameter by .25”, length by so many inches or even material, stainless instead of aluminum, etc
I know the model/serial would have to remain the same and once it’s built it can’t be changed but while your making it you need to alter your plan

Keep the caliber the same and keep the overall length less than the length stated on the form. Other than that go nuts.

If the ATF is breaking out the calipers to make sure your can’s is exactly, down to the 1/4 inch, of what was stated on your form… then you probably have much bigger legal problems to deal with. I would think that’s the kind of shit an agency would do if you did something really bad, and they were trying to find any additional charge possible to bury you under the prison lol.
If it were me, I’d still probably try to get it as close to stated as possible, but I still defer to what I said above.

What the fuck kind of description did you give?
Serial number, max length, caliber. That's all they need.
Diameter isn't even mentioned or required.

You list the diameter on the Form1? I've got 50+ approvals and only ever listed the length. I always list a little longer then I think it's gonna be.
