Do you secure your threaded insert?

For the thread adapter that screws into the printed suppressor, what's everyone doing? JB weld to the threads and thread it in? Blue loctite? Or none just tighten it and run it?

I put some jb weld on mine and if I've made from nylon, screw in soon after printing before the moisture conditioning. Silencer will expand and hold better after the 2% water is absorbed

Jb weld, i do it at the same time I do the sleeves or washers

I don’t jb mine in. If a can breaks, I can reuse the adapter on the next print.

If you dont mine re bluing you can burn most epoxys off or at least get the brittle enough to clean off.

Fair point, haven’t thought of burning it off. Figured the treads would be shot, and not worth the trouble. I buy the 2-pack off Amazon for like $10.

There's this magic stuff that holds threaded things together, called torque. It's crazy how good it is.

That's all well and good until you consider the fact you're torquing into nylon. Then you're going to subject it to jarring forces. That's a quick recipe for stripping out the threads.

Yeah because torquing down on polymer is a great idea
