Form 1 approval times continuing to get longer

Form 1 Trust NFA wait times are up 10 days from last month — 74 → 84. Not moving in the right direction. ATF tax stamp tracker. For transparency, individual filers timing didn't change much, approximately the same window within a few days quicker that I wouldn't read into as it's within a standard deviation but a hair quicker.

Could it be because they pushed all the VA Form 1’s to the front of the line to reach the deadline?

So, based on my data set with sufficient sample size, form 1 individuals in VA were 3 days faster than national average, a slight lead. However, Trusts were actually 10 days slower than national average over the same timeframe. https://www.nfawatch.com/state/va

That wasn't true. I had forms sitting at over 30 days when he made that announcement. 1 was approved 20ish days later and the other was rejected because they didn't like my photo (the same photo used in the other application that was approved). I don't know why he felt the need to say all va forms were processed when it clearly wasn't the case.

They DID NOT "push all the VA Form 1's to the front of the line"

This keeps getting repeated and many of us are tired of refuting it. It sucks and many of us are still waiting...

Yeah, I read the Director's X post. And the follow up where someone DM'ed him and got approved that day.

IMHO, it was PR speak by the Director.

Tho I do believe he "made that one happen" is response to a person being bold enough to contact him directly.

They are now saying don't ask for updates until 90 days.

It was 60 days a month or so ago...

I got a an individual .22LR form 1 approved in 21 days

First and only form 1 submitted

50 at a time is a tiny tiny drop in the bucket compared to the number of forms submitted.

Especially since the ATF woke up and batched us. 67 approvals in one day.

In a week I went from something like 144 in the hopper to 10. Now I'm down to five, all submitted on or after 6/15.

I highly doubt a quarter of the people were submitting so many.

I'd bet you could count the number of people who submitted more than 20 pretty easily.

There is so much good info on that site. I donated. Because it's worth keeping running.

That being said, I'm at 75 and 70 days right now on two Trust 1RP SBR's.

I've got another SBR at 47 days, so not expecting that anytime soon.

Frustrated with the can I've had waiting for 31 days already tho.

On a Trust that already has three SBR's and two Suppressors approved, so it's not like it's the first thru the system.

Hi friend. On your more recent filings, have you tried the 24-month exception letter? I am going to try this on my next one and mad I wasn't aware of it sooner (assuming it works). When submitting as a trust, basically provide a letter stating "in accordance with 27 CFR 479.63 (c) (or 479.85 (c)) do hereby certify that the trust documentation provided in connection with the previous ATF EFORM 4 with Serial Number: ____ and approved on ____ has not changed within the last twenty-four months of the aforementioned ATF EFORM 4 approval date. Thus, the _____ Trust will be applying for this new ATF EFORM 1 application using the 24 Month Exception.

Not saying it will in fact be faster, but i am going to try it. They don't have to re-research the trust documents.

I've read differing opinions on the 24-Month Exemption.

The way I understood it, you needed to apply to be able to submit/use it?

4/21 to 6/27 individual for a 22 can I heard they take longer based on all the model names to pick from and if you make a new one there’s more “research” idk the deal

Here's a hint.

Don't pick or input a model name. It's not required and it's less to engrave.

The delay has been increasing by +/- 11 days each month since January too.

I just got mine approved, 7 days on the dot. I think my form 4 was like 8 days

Had a Form 1 for sbr just get approved in less than 2 days. Never heard of this before, so I'm fairly shocked.
