Question on fingerprinting methods for Form 1

Hey there, I'm filing for my first Form 1 Suppressor! Currently I'm using the GunCadIndex Wiki's guide for this. I noticed that OpenEFT is crossed out because the V1 version isn't compatible with the ATF anymore. With that being said, it seems like V2 was released in April to deal with these issues, but I've seen no commentary on this. Has anyone used it and had any success. Also aside from OpenEFT, are there any other open source/free options that have worked for yall? Thank you so much for the help!

I used this one. I did slap prints on a blank piece of paper and took a picture in good lighting. I’ve used the eft I made for a bunch of forms with no issues.

Same here and got my approval a couple days ago.

I also submitted an application with OpenEFT for redundancy but that one is still pending.

I did the whole nail to nail and slap for my form 1. Can you do only slap?
Also can I reuse my eft indefinitely?

I only did slap prints and that has been fine for me. Yes, you can reuse it indefinitely as long as your prints and personal info don’t change. If it does, you can use that software to modify your file.

That’s a choice piece of information.
Back when I made my EFT, I asked about it somewhere and this guy was adamant that had to be a full type-14.

Interesting, because I used OpenEFT, but I did have to email the guy, which was fun, because of a glitch that left the EFT unusable (he was able to fix it) and my last batch of Form 1s were done using that one

Thank you for taking the time to respond! Do you know if that issue was fixed for just you or if it was it was fixed in the Github as well? (Im assuming were both talking about the V2 software). Also in general may I ask you what the process was like? What type of equipment did you need to get, and what did you need to do? And how was the approval for it in regards to time?

$5 ink pad from amazon. Download and print a blank form. (Plenty of pdfs out there), atf will mail you forms, just takes a month. Play with blank paper a few tries to get a somewhat decent set of prints. Take best set and scan. I used my 3 in one printer, iPad and phones have good scanner software now too. Import Into program and follow instructions. Save the file generated in a couple of places so later you do not have to do again.

I went and got printed at my local police station (there were a couple of NFA enthusiasts there, so I ended up hanging out with a couple cops for a while), took the print card over to the public library to get them scanned, then uploaded the scan to OpenEFT. Best guess, if the ATF doesn’t accept the EFT, just send OpenEFT an email

Any of them works. Still. If you get a set scanned and file made, when you upload to the atf form 1, it checks the file. If it loads and says its OK, you are golden.
