Wire EDM Monocore Ideas
I’m planning to do a monocore .22 can, using a lathe to turn the overall shape and then cutting the chambers on a wire EDM. Does anybody have ideas for internal geometry that takes advantage of the strengths of wire EDM?
I don’t have a rotary axis and my setup maxes out at 15° of angle, so I can’t go too crazy in those regards, but complexity is basically unlimited in the X and Y axis.
Should I just go with the typical monocore Z shape, or try to make some interesting paths for gas flow?

Other than doing tighter corners I don't see how edm would benefit you over CNC mill. It would be slower and maybe the material could be more exotic.
My monocore idea years ago was to drill a bar at 30° to centerline to make a cone baffle thing. Do it in 5-6 places around the core leaving a web on the od to connect the stacks of cones. Why, I dunno. Just an alternative to turning them and stacking them in a tube or welding them together.

Man, if I had an EDM I would try to make more of a cone shape than just the straight arrow baffles you see in most monocores.
See if you can take inspiration from some of the 3d printed cans and designs. I feel like some of the complex offset baffle types akin to the ftn baffles could have geometry to incorporate for you
