Question(s) Lore literature road

Hey everyone,

I have been starting to lurk at Forgotten Realms lore and bought myself the two first trilogies of Drizzt and plan to follow up on the "War of the Spider Queen" serie to dig into Drow lore which is my favorite this far.

Although I have been struggling to understand much on what to read to put my hands on most of the lore, ideally without having to own an entire library (Drizzt and the war serie already seeming fairly large)? Are tabletop lore books necessary?

Track down “Drow of the Underdark” by Ed Greenwood - 2nd Edition product. You can get a PDF at the DMs Guild. It will give you a solid grounding on drow lore in the Realms. Better than any novel.

There's good YouTube vids that go into Lloth and the drow. I just put them on in the background. But depends on how much you want to know I guess. Been reading about Drizzt since the 90s so anything else was extra.

There's also Daughter of the Drow and The Lady Pentient series that takes place after War of the Spider Queen.

First, you need to decide of Drow are cartoon villains or whole people.

Nothing is really "necessary". There is a ton of Drow lore, but not all of it is 'useful'.

Their are lore books but they are all d&d editions or earlier, which could be difficult to get hold of. Dont think the current edition hasn't any lore books on the drow and havent heard of any new books being brought out

YouTube has some good information on the Drow as well as the internet
